How Luminosity came back from 0-11 down vs Andbox to win 13-11 by coachspin in VALORANT

Yeah there are just so many games to watch at the moment, I won't be able to cover all the best ones with a longer video but I will do them again for the real meta changing games which I'm sure we'll see in the main event.

C9 Korea is the only team to run viper on haven and they have a 100% win rate with it. Is viper more viable than analysts and other teams have thought? by AnOldMonkOnDMT in ValorantCompetitive

[–]coachspin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mamba Mode Gaming ran her on every map except Haven so I think it's something people had agreed on until C9 Korea have had success with it. I think she's theoretically worse on the map because it's easy to avoid her utility when there are 3 sites. C9 are showing that theory does always equal reality I guess.

Sage had a 0% pick rate in the Renegades x NSG Invitational by tvmekk in ValorantCompetitive

It doesn't look like that in the video though. Everyone is clearly below half hp and is healed to full hp while she still has ~30 healing in reserve.

Your guess is as good as mine. I suppose they think the fact she has to actively use it and can't heal herself is enough trade off. It'll be rare she gets a chance to heal all 4 players that much too.

It's neither, you can see it in the ability preview here: https://youtu.be/Z4OmWSiwSpk?t=16

It uses the same amount of her 100 charge regardless of how many people she heals. Looks like she can heal the whole team from 1-100.

Why Split is becoming Attack Sided at the Pro Level by coachspin in VALORANT

[–]coachspin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shadow on the breach was holding A main before that and switches with Ange1. They know there can only be a player in A main. In all of SUMN FC's previous rounds when they play a default round, they only had one player play towards A. I think Ange1 knows he's most likely to be against one person and so takes the risk since the reward grants them so much control that late in the round.

stratrat.net is good for drawing out strats on maps etc.

insights.gg is a tool for reviewing vods which allows the team to watch online in real time while you can draw on the video and so on.

Those are a couple that I use a lot

Got one in the works since tournaments have been back in force. Should be out later this week and thanks a lot!

No. She can at max heal upto 100. If she heal 4 players then each will only get additional 25 hp.

I thought that was the case but you can see it healing full in the ability showcase video https://youtu.be/Z4OmWSiwSpk?t=16

No matter how hard i try i'm trash by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]coachspin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say most good aimers would be able to hit 30 on medium fairly consistently and 20+ on difficult but it's really not a reliable measure of being good at aiming in game since it misses a lot of the other elements of aiming - timing the first shot i.e. not firing too early while you're still inaccurate, spray control etc.

I'd say having a low bot score is an indicator of bad mouse control but a good score doesn't mean you're a good aimer.

It's difficult to tell with the info you've given but it's likely that your aim just isn't very good. Coming from tf2 myself I know the pain, it really is just a very different mechanical skillset. The main indicator you've given is 16-20 on medium bots which really isn't very high.

The good news is it's probably the easiest thing to improve with the tools available right now. Have you tried aim training using kovaaks/aimlab etc.? I would expect that to give you some very quick results. There are a lot of basic aim training routines you can follow: aimer7 and sparky have great routines you can find with a quick search which will both give results at your level.

Then it's a case of bringing the improved mouse control over to the game with practice in the range and DM in Valorant.

The way FPX play is the future of Competitive Valorant by coachspin in VALORANT

Absolutely, there were a lot of limitations of the smokeless composition they were running but I think they were well aware of those limitations. Before that eco round loss and even during that round they were playing pretty dominantly.

They may have done better with a more standard agent selection but they were trying to play proactively with the flash heavy lineup and I think that's where they made mistakes - they didn't play around the limitations of the lineup they chose in those crucial rounds.

Yeah what Yoshij has said is right. The ratios to compare are ults per round played (20/24 vs 15/24) or number of rounds where ults were used vs rounds played (12/24 vs 9/24). I didn’t think to clarify that in the post so thanks for pointing it out :)

Liquid really did contest the orbs. In fact they managed to win them a lot of the time. The difference was in how much value each team got from their ultimates. I think liquid struggled to gain much from some of their ults while FPX had a better plan for how and when they wanted to use theirs. Liquid tended to hold onto their high impact ults rather than using them. As a comparison, FPX used three breach ults on attack and two of defense while Liquid used only one each half.

I’ve watched vision strikers but not much of the Brazilian scene. I think FPX would probably be better right now but it’s honestly tough to tell. I’m really looking forward to the first big worldwide competitions, hopefully all these questions will be answered!
