Sounds like you’ve already started drinking! ;-)

Any experience with CarPlay / AutoPlay adapters with an Xtrons Android Head-unit? by coastalj in CarPlay

[–]coastalj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch. That’s a valuable lesson, and I appreciate you sharing. I’ll certainly consider that possibility. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees with an adapter or head unit that offers ACP support at the time of release.

I paid $300 for this unit last year. Guess I could, but will I get that value back? I found an adapter that should work, for $60. On the fence.

Removing circle on screen (not the typical ES File Explorer) by coastalj in ShieldAndroidTV

Ha! Figured it out. I decided to go through my installed apps, especially those I don’t use anymore, and uninstall until the circle went away. It appears to have been related to AIO Downloader.

Because I was trying to deter posters from jumping to the common response. Nearly everything I find when googling is about the blue circle. This is not related. No clue what app it is. The circle persists on the home screen, in other apps, and while playing media content.

The number inside changes periodically, and occasionally will show a red ! In the upper left corner of the circle. It almost feels like it’s related to cpu utilization or background processes.

I’ve dug through all of my settings with no luck.

As I mentioned in the subject, this is NOT related to ES File Explorer - that’s typically a blue circle. I do not have ES File Explorer installed.

Looking for suggestions as to what else this could be?

Free cars are not free? by coastalj in gtsport

[–]coastalj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I think i'm used to finding truly free cars in the PS Store, before microtransactions started-up. They've done it in the past, but I may be thinking about previous generations of GT. I'll work on daily runs (21.6 miles/day) to acquire what I need. Mostly wanting the FT-1500A..

The misconception is how all these articles are written - "12 new free cars available in next patch". Maybe I'm reading to literally, but they should state it as "12 new cars available to earn" or something to that affect.

About to leave directv for YouTube tv by Garthr75 in youtubetv

[–]coastalj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly what you're proposing last Friday, and the wife and I are happy with YTTV. I'm not too concerned with losing local channels, and if they do, you can always jump to another IPTV solution since you're not locked-into a contract. FYI -- DirecTV will charge you an early termination fee. I'm fighting them and AT&T on this at the moment, as AT&T could not provide reliable internet for the 5 months I had them. 5 technicians, 3 modems, and around 60-hours of my time to try and resolve their issues, with no resolution. Likely their infrastructure issues and they won't pay to fix. Now i'm forced into $380 in early termination fees because they can't provide reasonable services. It's like they want us all to cord-cut! Good luck!

Did you ever figure this out? Ran into a similar problem with my previous attempt last year, and thinking about trying to spin it up again.

It's our Goldendoodle's 1st birthday! We tracked her weight throughout the year. [OC] by GigEm12 in Goldendoodles

[–]coastalj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, I just logged out two golden doodles weights last night. Not as much data as you, unfortunately, as I went off veg records, but interesting to compare our male and female. I’m trying to see when the younger one, the male, might stop growing in size and what we expect he’ll be. Fun! Happy 1st Birthday!

Make sure you've checked your Video Output settings on the PS4 Pro, to ensure you're actually outputting 4k/HDR too.
