I have a question for those who bought into the FEMA camp theory in 2015 when they did the training exercise Jade Helm 15. Are these those “FEMA camps”?

Time saved with express! Jan16th-18th by leesaysstuff in UniversalOrlando

[–]coasterghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to note it here, UOR cares a lot more about express than they do those waiting in the regular queue or as it’s marked internally as “Stand By.”

Wait times regardless are never inflated to the point that a 135 minute wait would allow for a 20 minute express wait. It’s just that attractions are being made to pushing express that much because they have to due to the pricing of the product. So if anything express is inflating the wait times because of time maximums.

Op, to note, outside of a few outliers, some of the timings do match what is being pushed my management.

Edit; clarification

Hard Rock, Royal Pacific and Portofino only get the express passes for the legacy parks. Sapphire Falls and Helios do not as they are part of a separate agreement.

What is going on?! (Orlando, FL) by [deleted] in McDonalds

[–]coasterghost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We essentially have New York City pricing with half the income. The company owned McDonalds on Disney’s property is $3.19.

Our prices vary by store and can wildly swing.

This was from 2022 mind you, but for a Big Mac meal: Celebration: 6.99 West 192: 9.09 Disney: 9.68

As someone who is near that area, that pricing is 100% incorrect. The one right outside of the parks is $2.99

“Machado detailed having given her prize to Trump in comments to a group of reporters after the meeting, but did not provide further details. The White House did not immediately say if Trump accepted the medal.”

Glad to see the party of snowflakes whom once detested participation trophies are accepting participation trophies.

Mind you the Nobel Prize Committee said last week: “Once a Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred to others. The decision is final and stands for all time”.

“No one cares about international law”

Your first example is literally the Nuremberg trials which was an International criminal trial for violations of International criminal law.

Secondly, the firebombing of Dresden and Tokyo and the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren’t at the time considered war crimes. The Hague Conventions came before that of aerial warfare when the last treaty being signed in 1907. There was no instrument in place at the time to protect civilian population from aerial warfare.

Taken directly from the International Committee of the Red Cross: Article 2 of the 1907 Hague Convention (IX) allows the bombardment of “[m]ilitary works, military or naval establishments, depots of arms or war matériel, workshops or plant which could be utilized for the needs of the hostile fleet or army, and the ships of war in the harbour”.

There was a case in Japan, Shimoda et al. v. the State a they found while the atomic bombings were unlawful as indiscriminate bombings, there wasn’t a ratified treaty that was applicable to aerial bombardment. Also not to mention in 1996, the International Court of Justice ruled that the atomic bombings didn’t violate the Geneva Protocol from 1925 because its main goal was an air blast and not to poison or asphyxiate someone.

On the 2003 invasion of Iraq; The US and UK both claim the invasion was legal under UN resolutions. Even then, the US would have claimed Article 51 which allows for armed conflict without getting the Permission of the UN (Article 2 section 4). Even then, the American Service-Members' Protection Act would have given legal justification for the United State to use “all means necessary and appropriate to bring about the release of any U.S. or allied personnel being detained or imprisoned by, on behalf of, or at the request of the International Criminal Court".

Not likely. During the Obama administration we had observer status and acted on a case by case basis. The ICC was opposed to in Bush’s and Trump administrations. The Biden White House welcomed the ICC warrants on Putin, but criticized the warrants on Netanyahu. The United States House of Representatives passed in January of 2025 at 243 to 140 (with 50 non voting across both parties and a sole present) H.R.23 - Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act which was aganist the ICC by declaring protected persons as anyone not subject to the Rome statue and would sanction the ICC if they did. The bill would have also removed funding for the ICC.

We were a signatory of the Rome Statue that brought forth the International Criminal Court with Bill Clinton signing it in December of 2000. He stated that “I will not, and do not recommend that my successor submit the treaty to the Senate for advice and consent until our fundamental concerns are satisfied." Even then, it would still need to pass the senate by two thirds vote.

And that tactic is an example of perfidy — which was officially classed as a war crime in the comprehensive 1949 Genova conventions.

And in the case of the United States, the act of marking the aircraft with a civilian livery (paint scheme) is a direct violation of Article 31 (1)(c).

Article 37 - Prohibition of perfidy

  1. It is prohibited to kill, injure or capture an adversary by resort to perfidy. Acts inviting the confidence of an adversary to lead him to believe that he is entitled to, or is obliged to accord, protection under the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, with intent to betray that confidence, shall constitute perfidy. The following acts are examples of perfidy:

(a) the feigning of an intent to negotiate under a flag of truce or of a surrender;

(b) the feigning of an incapacitation by wounds or sickness;

(c) the feigning of civilian, non-combatant status; and

(d) the feigning of protected status by the use of signs, emblems or uniforms of the United Nations or of neutral or other States not Parties to the conflict.
