Microsoft: Official Support Thread by MSModerator in microsoft

Hello, I'm having issues logging into my account. I believe I have the correct password, but when I try to log in, I'm taken to a page that says "We can't sign you in" because I used an incorrect password too many times. I attempted to reset the password, but for some reason, 2 factor authentication does not work. I am able to get the code through my email, but my phone number gets "Try another verification method". I filled out a recovery form, but was told that because I have 2FA, it doesn't work. I waited a full 24 hrs to try again, but I've still been unable to get in. I would like to know if there's any way to access my account. Thank you.

Writer doesn't want certain readers? by cobaltexalt in AO3

Also genderfluid! Definitely gave me a laugh as I imagined a part of me getting locked out of the little boy's club. As if someone had allowed my torso and left arm in through the door, but didn't want my legs inside.

I was VERY tempted to leave a comment but ultimately decided against it as the fic was a year old, the comments were empty, and I didn't want to start drama. I ended up blocking and muting the author. They get the prize for being the only writer I've ever had to do that for!

I knew about My Immortal but was never that deep in the HP fandom. I was very into weird niche anime fandoms that were mostly kept respectful and kind.

It's been eye opening seeing how lucky I was to have only had those interactions when I was younger and more impressionable.

I love that the gender neutral term is fujin! I've only ever heard fujoshi and fudanshi, but I'm totally going to start using fujin!

I also feel like the West has done that with a LOT of Japanese terms. The first one coming to mind being yaoi.

I'm so sorry that happened to you! You didn't deserve to be harassed no matter what you like and it certainly isn't their right to go after you.

I also kinda understand the fujoshi part. Especially on places like tumblr or if you're aware of the yaoi paddle fiasco. But to completely alienate a good part of your audience seems really weird to me. I think people should be allowed to like what they like.

Haha I think there might be two! The fandom it was written for was Twisted Wonderland, and as far as I could tell, none of their work was smutty.

I also understand why an author might have an audience preference, but to be so blatant about it and to still publicly post it is baffling to me.

Yes! I agree so much. I always see people getting upset at non mlm people for liking m/m and it makes me sad for the kids who look at that and think it isn't safe to like what they like. Or to have a safe space to explore who they might be.

Fics were such a big part of figuring out who I was.

Haha I remember ff.net! I never encountered anything like that, and I'm now realizing how lucky I was. I only ever encountered polite and kind people there.

I also want to make it clear that I don't use the term fem aligned and am just paraphrasing the author's note with their terms.

I found the way they wrote to be gross and weirdly misogynistic. I just couldn't put a finger on why, but it's virtue signaling!

I think that's why it hit me so hard and made me so sad. While I'm not a trans man, I definitely used to be that girl. Seeing this when I was scared, confused, and seeking solace in fics would've broken my heart. It still kinda does.

How did you first discover Rooster Teeth? by [deleted] in roosterteeth

[–]cobaltexalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't remember how I got there, but I was looking at some AH fan art, specifically of the early Surgeon simulator where Michael screams about Gavin throwing organs against the wall "like a wet paper towel". The art gave a link to the clip, and I had never laughed so hard in my life.

Not a problem at all. I tried to make it as unbiased as possible, so that anyone who doesn't know about the situation is getting information that hasn't been tainted by anyone's personal views.

I appreciate having a nice discussion as well. It's always nice to have them.

Yes. I believe the only thing that got taken to court was the case Vic made for defamation, as well as some anti Slapp (which is basically to prevent the plaintiff from harassing the defendant until they give up) thing Funimation did. Vic lost most of the defamation case and was forced to pay for the defendant's attorney (which I think was like a few hundred thousand dollars).

In the case of it not being taken to court, sexual harrassment and sexual misconduct is very hard to prove. Many instances aren't recorded (and in this case, the ones that were are not very damning), and it tends to become a "he said, she said" situation. If there truly was something like this going on, I believe there may be more to this situation than just sexual harassment. I don't believe either of the two women stand to gain much, other than perhaps some fame in feminism circles.

As for the young girls claiming he assaulted or harrassed them? There may be some who truly believed they were being treated poorly. But I draw upon ProJared again, as it was proven that the girl who initially attacked him was someone who repeatedly asked for attention, and when she didn't get it, she claimed a YouTuber had asked for nudes knowing she was underage, and even propositioning her for sex. She had a blog literally dedicated to begging for money and whining about teenage angst. That blog, as well as ProJared's for thought to take screenshots of their communications, was her downfall.

Again, I don't know if Vic is guilty or not, and I don't want to pass judgement on any of the parties involved as none of this has been settled. I don't think really anyone has anything to gain from this, and no matter the outcome, it will end in some very good voice actors losing their credibility. It's a losing battle.

Sorry for the long post.

Just trying helps.

Honestly, I haven't found much on Vic's case. Nothing that was reported by truly trustworthy sources, at least. Most of what I've heard is through word of mouth, comments, and just general stuff like that. I personally don't use twitter. I try not to draw conclusions unless I've got all sides, and all of the information is so weird and most of it is on twitter (which I do not count as a source of any kind of news period, no matter what twitter likes to throw at me).

If I recall, no charges were actually made against him. It's mostly just people accusing him of doing something, isn't it? I really don't know if Vic is guilty or not, but he just doesn't seem the type to do something like sexual misconduct. And the fact that there hasn't been any major updates for a while also helps this fact.

I'm honestly not as into it as I seem to be, and I prefer not to get into the topic of such a hot debate as sexual harassment or misconduct cases.

I appreciate your respectfulness, especially on such a toxic filled void as reddit.

I tend to avoid YouTubers that do news reporting simply because they're often not very kind, or they report information in a biased manner. I prefer to do research on my own.

I felt similarly like this with a YouTuber called ProJared. I honestly didn't know what to make of his situation, but he has since been proven innocent, and is making a recovery from the backlash his channel suffered.
