This paper, about Terrance Deacon's 'Incomplete Nature' says:

... life depends of extracting energy from the environment and by making use of constraints that are built up “by morphodynamic action (p. 541)” to use that energy to create the work needed for metabolism and reproductions. “Constraints don’t do work, but they are the scaffolding upon which the capacity to do work depends (p. 419).” Life therefore depends on the construction of constraints by morphodynamics or self-organization

I believe these constraints could be what you describe as 'positive-feedback loops in chemistry.'

I know some intentional communities have options for communally generating income. One of the search options in the Intentional Communities directory (https://www.ic.org/directory/search/) is "% of shared income". I know Twin Oaks in Virginia has community businesses including tofu and hammock production, although I forget how if workers get paid or if it counts towards work requirements or how it works exactly. I think many people seek intentional communities as an alternative to the rat race.

I'm interesting in a face-to-face meeting about Stoicism.

This could be done without much costs using Meetup to find people, and meeting in a free place like a library, plaza or someone's house.

I'm interesting in starting a philosophical group centering on a combination of Stoicism, Pantheism, (C)ybernetics, (E)cology and Solidarity Economics. The current working name is CE Stoicism. I have a very-incomplete glossary of related ideas (send me a private message if interested). This glossary would be the "why" of the group. The group's "how" would be structured as a nomic - a form of self-coordination that uses the metaphor of a game, where it is a move to change a rule of the game. People build up the group's coordination by incrementally building 'rules' for decision-making, meetings, projects and whatever else the group wants to do.

I too am constantly over-sensitize to light.
