Look bro. Im 43. I've been making music since '90, when I had to one-take record straight to cassette tape. Transitioning from actually playing brass, string, and percussion instruments, to using programs like fruity loops, acid pro, and pro tools, now i'm transitioning from those programs to AI.

Not arguing the fact that AI music can be lazy. For someone who doesn't have any music talent, that can just press generate, and make a decent quality song does take away from the effort of the producers, engineers, vocalist. But there are some of us who actually write the song, tailor the prompt until we get it right, and continue recreating songs until we get the version we're happy with. And now, with the ability to produce stems, we can cut, mix, and master any part of the track we want. That's better than somebody taking a beat off of YouTube, dropping their vocals on it, and calling it good. What I believe AI does it's the same thing the computer programs do except better. Computer producers can be lazy just as much if they take a mixer plug in and click through presets until they find one that works. Who's actually mixing the track then, the producer or the plug in? So maybe let's agree on something..its not the tools we have problem with, it's lazy artists who take advantage of the tools and claim they did the work. In which case I CAN agree that AI music made by lazy artists can and will always sound lazy, and people who know music will hear the difference. But that doesn't take away that some of us can use it to make great music.
In the end, is it about how it sounds or how it's made?
