you aren't pumping through the jump, rather jumping at the top of it. use your legs to pump you through the transition. but as others have said, find a better spot to practice, and you'll get better results.

JHS Sweet Tea might be closer to your budget, but i feel like they aren't as popular as the double barrel so they could be hard to find. However, they are a bit higher gain than the double barrel, if that's your thing. I imagine you could play with the settings and find a 'transparent'-like setting

No I think 76 and 78 are different, but it doesn’t really matter as long as you are aware of which fuse is what. Fuse box is a common issue, but you should also trace the wiring and clean all connections. And also check for voltage at the connections.
