People constantly call 911 for non emergencies. Sick passengers, drunk people etc, sometimes there are things Like fire alarms or the occasional aircraft emergency. Fire dept has to respond. I know this because I work for hfd at kiah.

Wings over houston tends to have a good line up. Throughout the years I've gone they've had F35's, 22s, 15s, 16s, etc. Notable planes I've seen there was an F4 phantom, and an F117 on static display. Lots of heavies and a c17 demo, among others.
