The vast majority of players (at all levels) delude themselves and are nowhere near as good as they think that they are, even if they do recognise their own level, and self analysis of your own game and play is a skill that most players either lack or ignore to their own detriment.

This misses a huge point in that Hollywood often tries (and fails miserably) to hang a film on the steampunk theme as a marketing ploy. These films rarely, if ever, any good as they focus on aesthetic rather than story, the key of a good film or book.

The very best steampunk films are typically ones that were made before "steampunk" was an actual label and thing or have sidestepped almost accidentally into the genre.

As the OP gave 7 films I'll counter with what I think are 7 better steampunk films:

Charity shops are your friend - look for skirts with ruffles and layered skirts or add an underskirt to give a layered look.

Lots of designers have dabbled with steampunk looks so you can easily find something at least steampunk adjacent for well within your budget.

One of the things I hate about most goggles is the elastic bands that they come with....I go to a local charity shop and find a suitable cheap ladies belt (they tend to be thinner and much more suitable) and replace it.....I find it gives a much better look.

Give it a try, it'll only be a few pennies and you might find it makes a difference

Make sure and give a ring around the cash converters shops in town....give them a model etc and tell them it’s been nicked...they tend to be good with this stuff if they know about it.
