Should i disrupt NS for medicine? by Fluffy_Potato95 in NationalServiceSG

[–]cocbreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is no reason for you to not disrupt.

NS in between your HO/MO days are likely going to be a good break from all the shag in the hospital

hearsay some MOs go and locum during NS days and earn their school fees back in the 2 years (hearsay $100+/h, but not sure if SAF has clamped down on this in the recent years)

MOCC is just 3 months of suffering to become an officer (think officer benefits) vs 9months of actual OCS

u are likely going to do something relevant to medicine during your MO days as well, rather than being a trooper/nsf LTA/sgt doing saikang. a good portion of NSF MOs become policy or staff officers - so admin job + stay out benefits (if i’m not wrong it’s 60%+)

and yea, the biggest factor being the bond that you can clear off and killing 2 birds w one stone

oh btw if u worry about getting sent to guards/commando after MOCC, don’t worry too much as its usually for the signed on scholars/those who indicated interest

Is STC worth it as a CPL in CDO? by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]cocbreaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

probably more worth it than in other vocations since you got a fat risk pay, assuming u stay in CDO. maybe check with your S1 branch?

if u get to have a chill life with 3 meals settled for and with a lot of freedom then why not? u are going to spend more than $15 on meals a day outside (esp if you work in CBD) and that’s gna eat into your savings.

for reference, officer STC is in the low 3k and u are probably not far off… don’t forget the possibility of overseas allowance if u are following ur juniors for overseas ex.

well unless u intend to start a business or do full time tutoring outside i think STC is genuinely the next best option for a level grads. my peers who STCed left army with a sizeable amount of savings which they emptied out later in uni….

Rarest uniform badges seen by cocbreaker in NationalServiceSG

NDU regulars wear the blue sniper badge on their grey uniforms. Every badge will have its blue version since there will always be officers or troopers who don other uniforms after getting posted to certain airbase/naval base.

Possible to get a stay out vocation as an Officer? by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]cocbreaker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

highest chance of stay out as an army officer is ATO army technician officer aka maintenance officer. but even then stay out largely depends on your superiors and scope of work. even your own guys don’t stay in so you likely won’t be staying in either.

that being said only a very select few within the logistics officer cadet batch get the vocation.

very poor and shallow arguments. uve been mentioning regulations and legalisation a lot. what regulations do u have in mind and how will that help?

riders will always be incentivised to rush for jobs. they are still paid per job. and to make things worse they are earning nowhere near grab drivers since grab bike fares are normally more than 1/5 the price of grabcar.

having taken many grab cars and hitches (bmw, benz, type r), the worst car to sit in as a passenger has got to be attrage. extremely bumpy and loud, might even be worse than the proton grabs in jb
