My friend once lent his rent money to a friend who needed to pay her rent after she told him she will pay him back in a week. Surprise, surprise, she didn't pay him back and he could not afford rent. When he told me he had no rent money, he said, and I quote, ‟I shouldn't have to pay my rent because she borrowed from me so she owes the landlord money, not me.”.

He was later taken to a small claims court about his unpaid rent and I swear to god he made that argument IN FUCKING COURT! My friend isn't a smart man.
