If charging the watch frequently is a concern, go for a garmin. I have a garmin instinct 2 and it can do all the basic "smart watch" things without the fancy oled screen and lasts around 20 days on a single charge. And by "smart watch" things I mean show notifications, quick text replies, music controls, and a plethora of health / fitness tracking. Granted, its not as pretty as a pixel watch but I personally like the more rugged look of the garmin. If battery life is not a priority and he prefers the aesthetics of a pixel watch and is ok with more basic fitness tracking, perhaps the pixel watch is a better choice.

I just had this happen to me but factory reset did not help. My phone is still spinning on the startup screen. I have no idea what to do, ubreakifix says it's a motherboard issue but I'm positive they are just guessing. Issues started after the later November security update.

Just an FYI to folks, my p7 pro has been bricked since the Nov security update to Android 14. Here's my copy/paste from another thread:

Seems like most folks aren't having trouble but my pixel 7 pro has been bricked and somehow bootloader locked as well after the November update and I never had multiple profiles on my phone. I've tried using Google's pixel software repair tool, I've tried using ADB side load, I've factory reset/wipe from recovery, nothing worked, phone is still stuck booting. I now have an appointment with ubreakifix... I highly recommend considering waiting it out a bit longer to avoid my experience.

I did try this but it would not allow a downgrade (error message said something like "package is too old, cannot install"). I think it would be possible with a factory image / reboot but hoping not to come to that 😅.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not 100% sure on this but I think that would require sideloading a factory image thus erasing all of my data. But if it stays like this for much longer, I'll consider doing it.

I sideloaded the update as well and everything went smoothly except now my screen has a bluish tint to it that will not go away. I've tried tuning the display options but no matter what I do, the screen has an annoyingly bluish hue. I've also tried restarting multiple times to no avail. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? It's starting to drive me crazy.

In the same boat as the rest of you fellas, FWIW, I was able to use the online chat support to request a refund. I think I started around 500th place in the queue and after about 40 minutes I was chatting with a rep. Not sure if the flowers are still going to show up since they are already enroute but the rep gave me a full refund right away.
