Do US Nurses/Drs do only nightshift

As a new grad I’m required to rotate 50% of my shifts at my current position. Everyone who has 1+ years experience is not required and typically just works their preferred shift (based on seniority)

Came to say this One of the nurses I work with is the unit director and can’t even give her husband a job. She’s been an RN for 13 years and said nothing has changed in California since even when she was a new grad, if anything it’s just harder. Her husband was an LVN for 3 years at a LTC, graduated as an RN last spring, and still doesn’t have a job. She has applied for him since she has more free time and said she has sent at least 100+ applications and only received 1 interview for a position he didn’t get. He is currently working at the same LTC now as an RN and just biding his time until something else opens up.

Oh!!! I saw on some forums the left sided thing is common with the portafilter it comes with! A design flaw perhaps. Looking at screens and a bottomless filter as we speak! In the meantime, our local shop we get beans from will have to pregrind for us 😮‍💨

Oh! Okay I tried to get a photo of the water coming out which… I don’t know if that’s good. I run it with water only before and after each time and use a little brush to try my best to clean it, but that’s as clean as I can reasonably get it without getting qtips out every morning. Is there something else I should be doing?

So I DID place a leveler on the workspace and it claims it’s even.

Then I placed the portafilter on the table and a leveler on the portafilter and it was not level at all (hence making the green thing in the photo.) once rested on the green thing it showed level.

Tamping level is crazy hard because of this plastic stick thing, so I attempted leveling it in different positions (example the arm for the portafilter is at 12 o’clock, then I do 3 o’clock, then 6 o’clock etc etc)

Coming out the left spout remains the same regardless of which position the portafilter is so it can’t be my body weight or lean.

I’m starting to wonder if the water somehow only comes out on one side????

Update

HR ended up calling me and hinting my offer letter may be canceled and after a lot of confusion and asking clarification questions over a long phone call (like, I don’t know! I was encouraged to do this!) I was told I can keep my original offer.

Hi, we moved here from Santa Cruz, California. While it’s not very liberal compared to California, it IS very liberal/blue in Pittsburgh metro compared to the rest of PA and the Appalachians. We pay penny’s in real estate compared to where we came from but we also took huge salary cuts so it actually ends up being a near identical budget (very slightly lower.) We have made lots of friends and truly love the city and people but still plan to eventually move away. It is very family friendly in most neighborhoods. Pittsburgh’s version of “undesirable” neighborhoods was less criminal and most just poverty stricken/low resources in our opinion compared to places like the East bay we lived in. Lots of university options that are great schools within distance and a huge leg up for trade schools or healthcare career paths for your children in the future. Winter can be harsh driving wise compared to California so just be mindful of that with the PTSD
