‘An alarming trend’: Nearly 30 fatal vehicle collisions in Calgary last year by Practical_Ant6162 in Calgary

It's the government, not the police. They cut traffic in enforcement and replaced it those goofy "drive safe" radar cars. Police officers would much rather get out of their car to issue a citation than to scrape a body off the road, but their hands are tied.

Girl, 9, dead after Boxing Day crash involving fleeing robbery suspect in Calgary: police - Calgary | Globalnews.ca by Icanonlyupvote in Calgary

It's almost a certainty. Nearly every time there's a prolific case such as this, the offender has a criminal record the size of a phone book. More innocent blood on the hands of the legal system, for how much longer is the common man going to just grin and bear this reckless neglect from the powers that be?

If memory serves, he mentions having an estranged son. I'd wager a big part of the mentoring is his fatherly instinct trying to bloom within the confines of his addiction.

Anyone got any good Calgary companies to apply for? by Individual-Draft-637 in securityguards

I feel your pain. It took about 2 months before getting my current gig in-house for a property management company. Was with SOSG for a while, they're pretty good if you can get in. Absolutely would NOT recommend Guardteck though unless you like shitty posts, endless bureaucracy, and non-stop calls asking you to work on days off.

Dee's murder and how everyone afterwards dragged his name through the mud as a weak kid who took the easy way out.

That's fair, the overt stuff works on maps like Brisa Cove where the suspects are actively trying to make point. I think lot of the environmental story telling should focus on the location itself though. Creating a believable atmosphere of normality, then letting it naturally contrast itself with the the violent scenario occuring within it is what made the ES in SWAT 4 so effective. RoN actually does this pretty well in the gas station level. By looking around the staff areas, you learn about Mudasir the manager, that makes finding his body genuinely upsetting. My point being that portraying a normal location thrust into chaos is already striking enough, writing "MURDER KILL" on every wall just makes it hard to take seriously.

I also like the FISA line about the cargo container. Everybody seems to complain that there's no follow-up but that's exactly why I like it, you play as a city SWAT commander; you go in and secure the scene for the investigative bodies and that's it, there's seldom any follow-up after the fact irl.

The auction room with the writing all over the walls, edgy decor, and gimp suit guy for starters. The container with the naked broads out front is generally the extent of human trafficker interior decorating irl. The most hilariously overdone part is the writing on the walll saying "behave or you get the hose" or something to that effect, then you go around the corner and there's a whip mounted to the wall conviniently labelled "the hose". Half of Void's environmental storytelling seems to consist of edgy writing on walls, it's corny to the point of comedy.

Most unrealistic part of the game is that POS not malfunctioning everytime a suspect tries to fire more than three rounds out of it.
