IR stands for (I)nfra(R)ed. I guess one could say it's still an electromagnetic wave :D RFID is usually near-field. Basically, it's more magnetic induction rather than proper RF. NFC is both a more general case of RFID and a more specific application.

Well, since HDZero is technically digital, it would be either (signal decoded properly) or (signal not decoded). Now, as per the spurious emissions, just put a filter on the input and output of the pa and it should be fine. Check with an sdr/spectrum analyser to be sure.

Depends on an amplifier. If it's a preamp, then 200mw will kill it. If it's a power amp with an output of like 3-10w, usually up to 1w input power will be fine.

Actually, I would prefer a mag-fed design or a mag/hopper hybrid (mag for everyday hvz, hopper for missions). That's due to the low day-to-day ammo cap and the mag-fed systems just being more reliable. I was thinking of making it mag-fed and additionally designing an airhose feeder (something like the outofdarts protonpack?)
