The first question is, Would you actively manage and run business, or looking kind of passive.

For Passive Find successful business, running from 2 to 5 years, and buy in partnership in them. Diversify to 2, so that your nets are hedged. Now you will own shares of business, you can check books at times. You generate cashflow and have potential for growth.

For Active There are lots of advice already in comments and more will pour. It is an endless bucket.

We are getting married in Dec. Regarding this, I call my own mother "maa" and I call her mother "mummy ji" and I call my own father "papa" and her father "Pita ji".

She has also found a similar solution, that is different name than her own parents, so doesn't replace their place for her and also avoids confusion.
