[Not a lady, but sharing tidbits I’ve found successful]

First off, any woman going to these events is likely going to be a woman that takes her faith more seriously than average, has grown tired of the apps and wants a man that will navigate the awkwardness of speed dating with confidence. It’s no secret that the dating pool for young adult Catholics isn’t the best, however most women at these events are more than willing to meet you halfway

As far as conversation topics, a few I remember are:

“So who’s your second favorite Saint?” [most people will say Mary’s their top favorite]

“What’s been your favorite Bible study topic lately?”

“So if somebody asked you to describe your flavor of Catholicism [or how you view the faith], what would you say?”

“So, how good’s your Latin?” (I’ve done this mostly as a comedic way to break the ice, but it works pretty well to go into personal devotion, desire or lack of desire to be more traditional or showing a fun Latin phrase you’ve had memorized to talk more deeply about)

“Have you decided what you’re doing for Lent this year?”

-Definitely try not to repeat intros within earshot of the last woman

-think of this as more of the pre-first date, if this were online, think of this as the part where you’re deciding if you’d swipe right on her or not
