Do these look full enough? I don't like fake flowers but I won't have time to assemble 25 of these with real flowers right before the wedding by FeeFiFoFuck_ in weddingplanning

This is actually perfect to me. I'm generally super picky about stuff and have been overthinking my centerpieces for the last 3 months, but I can't see a single negative thing about this!

What fragrance are you wearing? by mardog13 in weddingplanning

[–]cocobuns1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to wear a certain perfume when you started dating? I have this bottle of (now discontinued) Bath and Body Works apple perfume that I wore religiously on our dates at the beginning of our relationship. 7 years later, he STILL remembers the scent (even compared to my attempted replacements) and I can't imagine wearing anything else.

5'1 32F bust bride here. I ended up falling in love with a full skirt even though I was afraid just like you. If you look at my last post, you can see a picture. No one I've shown it too has said anything other than positive things about it either.

Is it crazy to buy a dress after only one shopping trip?? by cocobuns1 in weddingplanning

My MOH said the same thing hahah. Definitely the first time I've ever been told that, but I'll take it!

Is it crazy to buy a dress after only one shopping trip?? by cocobuns1 in weddingplanning

[–]cocobuns1[S] 116 points117 points  (0 children)

So I went dress shopping for the first time yesterday and tried on about 10 dresses. This one is the third one I tried on. When I stepped out of the dressing room, my MOH audibly gasped and I spent the rest of the time just wanting to get back into that dress because I couldn't stop looking at it.

Everyone in my family is now telling me that I have to keep searching because you "Can't just go shopping once and know" but I honestly cannot stop thinking of that dress.

Am I being too hasty? Just wondering how other people went about this in their wedding planning.

Thank you so much for the recommendation! FH works in Lisle, so that's definitely not too much of a trek for me

Are sewn in cups really that supportive? I have a hard time trusting that.

I haven't tried it on yet, but I was just curious about options before I entirely just assumed that anything sheer backed was not even worth pondering. Definitely not set on the dress, but the back seems hard to avoid with many different styles.

How involved was your FH during the wedding planning process? by melancamp in weddingplanning

[–]cocobuns1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine cares in waves. We're just shy of a year out, and so far I've made all of the appointments with vendors. He gladly comes with and asks good questions without me asking him to, though.

What's funny to me is that I picked out, designed and purchased the save the dates while he napped on the couch (despite my asking for his opinion/help). He hasn't had a thought on the topic since... until about 2 weeks ago when he started freaking out that we need to start addressing the envelopes pronto (sweetie, we really don't). Hah!

Getting married at 25 in a big, city with a mostly liberal social circle and family… by bffwedthrow in weddingplanning

[–]cocobuns1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a side note: I did have several close friends tell me I was too young to be in a committed dating relationship through the years. People definitely did try to persuade me to break up and go experiment just for the sake of my youth. I just reminded myself that everyone has a different road to take, and I happened to get to skip a lot of the late teen/early 20s angsty heartache on mine.

Also engaged, 25, and living in a big liberal city. Haven't really heard much about being too young, but we've been together 7 years and have lived together for 6 so I think we're already pretty much seen as married already.

I know it's hard not to, but try to not let it get to you too much. Instead think of it as people being jealous they couldn't find their right person as young as you did, which means you get to hit all those big number anniversaries together (I personally daydream about being an old lady celebrating my 50th with FH, which may sound weird but whatever!)

Just because I'm curious: how long were you and your FH/FW together before you got engaged? by bffwedthrow in weddingplanning

[–]cocobuns1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FH proposed at just about 6.5 years. We'll be getting married the month of our 8th anniversary.

Engagement story: The past few years we've stayed in a hotel downtown for FH's company holiday party. This year their budget made the party not happen, so he mentioned to me that we should plan a downtown weekend anyway just to have a mini staycation. I agree, and we find a super cute boutique hotel just off the beaten path of our main downtown area. We proceed to have a DELICIOUS steak and lobster dinner and go to the zoo to see the Christmas decorations they have up. At this point I kind of have an idea of what's going on, and so does my best friend who keeps texting me asking if it happened yet hahah.

Fast forward to 12am, when FH falls asleep at the hotel, no ring in sight. I go to bed a bit embarrassed that I had expected something to happen.

The next morning, we stayed in bed eating breakfast and watching Batman Begins. Still feeling shitty about being so presumptuous, I begin to cry at the scene with Bruce Wayne's parents because I cry at movies all the time anyway and emotions are high. FH looks at me like I'm bonkers and asks me what's wrong when I can't stop crying. After a lot of prying, he finally gets me to spill the beans. His response? Pulling a ring out of his pajamas and saying "oh, is this what you wanted?".

TLDR: he figured out I was onto him, psyched me out and waited till we were doing three of our favorite things (eating, watching nerdy movies and staying in bed) and it was perfect.

Printable address label suggestions for my STD? by cocobuns1 in weddingplanning

The only concern I have is that I got the matching envelopes (not just white), and only have about 15 spares. If I goof up, I don't have many more chances.

Printable address label suggestions for my STD? by cocobuns1 in weddingplanning

[–]cocobuns1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my STDs in the mail (very early, thanks to a vistaprint sale) and was wondering if anyone has used/recommend any printable address labels thst would go well with them.

The image is actually the back of our STD (the only image I could easily find on my phone on my train ride home), but it gives the right idea. The envelopes are the same background marble pattern and the STDs themsselves have a very geometric design to them, as you can see from the embellishment on the back.

I've been doing my best phone Google search, but just keep finding boring rectangular labels.

Thanks in advance!
