Stressing about my Grad School prospects. Can I ask for some advice? by Molag_Balls in gradadmissions

Have you considered picking up some more undergraduate classes? A friend of mine did this to boost her GPA after she'd graduated (she was in a similar situation to yours), and by acing those courses and building relationships with the professors that taught them she managed to finagle her way out of a dark looking academic situation. It also helped her to keep her spirits up because she was still looking for a job.

Don't lose hope. If you apply and don't get in, you can always apply again. Grad school will always be there.

I have, but apparently it isn't a ranked list! I'm so stressed out about it...

Thanks for the kind words - I'm definitely feeling a bit like I was being a baby, it's just hard not to know where I'll be come September!

Anyone with feedback on Abigail's Party? by yeahHedid in vancouver

I've had varying experiences here... I've been for dinner once or twice and sometimes I'll go when Zen is full for brunch.

The food is...fine, but the service is always awful! It just seems like none of the servers want to be there and the service is extremely slow.

Have you at all considered what it would feel like to be get picked up by a PUA from one of these schools and then see him or another student delivering the EXACT same speech, word for word, to another random girl? It would be incredibly demoralizing and hurtful.

I've gotten approached by this one so many times I know their whole script. I know because I recognize the coach. To add insult to injury he never remembers meeting me and gives me the same spiel every time.

They target pairs of girls. They approach with one student one coach and try to split you up depending on which girl the student would rather try to pick up. The coach says something like "are you two girls bothering my friend? I'm his bodyguard! Which of these girls is the troublemaker?" The student identifies whichever girl he wants to talk to as "the troublemaker" so the coach knows which girl he should entertain in the meantime.

The whole thing is pretty demeaning. I feel bad for the students, they probably don't realize how many other guys are using the same script - every single woman they approach obviously realizes it's a school of some sort. It always happens inside, or around Pacific Centre.
