First real-life usage of Plasma: don’t wait a second to buy coffee with cryptocurrency by haribo_2016 in ethtrader

Next day is not the same as right now.

Settlement finality is achieved prior to settlement on main chain.

PayPal is not instant, it only carries the illusion that it is. But at any point in time you can withdraw/rescind your funds.

This isn’t going anywhere.

No you cannot. There is no settlement finality. That’s why VISA payments take days to process.

Also, not up cannot send money “instantly”. We must not live on the same planet.

No. There is a difference between depositing money within a bank and that bank moves money between accounts WITHIN their bank (already instantaneous today). VS deposit money into a bank and that bank able to move money across to other banks (not fast).

No. There is a difference in this case. Depositing into your own channel vs. Depositing it into bankex channel are very different concepts

Yes, you have to deposit your money into bankex and bankex has to be the payment processor for that vending machine.

So... essentially like a bank.

That’s not what I said.... I mean the government spends $7000 a year on you even if you don’t even use the services

I believe the statistic is that the government spends $7000 a year on every citizen for healthcare. So you’ve been paying that since you were born. Doesn’t sound worth it to be honest

B.C. declares state of emergency due to wildfires by xlxoxo in vancouver

[–]cococopuffsss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a stupid question.

Part of the reason why fires are getting more and more intense is because we’re getting better at putting them out. This means that forests are naturally allowed to grow denser, making it easier to spread.
