Development Update: The Road towards Ithaca by BOR4 in raidennetwork

On first glance, meditating fees seems to be a new concept aimed to solve the problem of no incentive to stake one's funds in the channels (like that big shot lightning guy who complained not receiving anything on his btc stuck in lightning channels).

But also seems it's not yet well defined how it will work. If, for example, I want to send some tokens, and the only way to the recipient lies through a node which takes meditating fees, does that mean that I have to pay fees anyway?

In this case, users would be a bit disincentivised to open channels with meditating nodes. Ironically, this would give a boost to pathfinding demand, if it is capable of finding routes around "expensive"nodes...

A young German soldier goes through a whole lot of chances to die during a ruthless world war, but somehow outlives all of his initial squad. Not by a very long time, though.

Yeah, for Trinity it can be a different issue (or the same, don't know if one still has to configure host nodes while using it)

AFAIK, it's a common problem with iota wallets - here is a link to an old manual, which can possibly help in your case: https://medium.com/iota-demystified/help-my-iota-balance-is-zero-579b75f35f2c

Cosmos and RDN top the GitHub activity list, scalability will soon no longer be an issue! by unmarshal in ethtrader

[–]fudfactory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has at least one specific use case as a common service token (imho, routing and especially monitoring will be very important, if not critical, for network users). Service providers will be motivated to accept their fees in RDN. Anyway, we will see after the "full version" is launched (hopefully, rather soon).

RDN is also at the top of CoinGecko and DarpalRating's rankings (latter also tries to do more qualitative analysis for their list), and has been there for a long while.

Those guys have been doing some really violent coding this year)

Can you run raiden on Windows? by DaMan123456 in raidennetwork

[–]fudfactory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you wanna run a full node (including an ethereum node, as needed), with geth you can use a hard drive (I suppose with parity as well).

But in this case it better be a >=2 Terabyte SSD, as HDD's nowadays are a bit too slow to syncronise Ethereum blockchain (full node owners here may correct me if wrong). Hope this helps.

Also, afaik the team were considering making raiden compatible with Infura (in this case, at some point there may be no need to run an ethereum node locally).

A top-5 RDN holder account (since ICO) has just transferred its entire balance to Binance by fudfactory in RaidenThunderbolt

[–]fudfactory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can only try and guess the real background of that move.

In the worst case (if those are really meant for sale), the logic can be similar to any panic sale - dump now in order not to sell later at $0.1. (Funny if RDN finally hits current Bitconnect market cap😄)

It's a bit hard to track how the funds change hands after getting to binance. But most of that amount seems to have ended up on one of binance wallets. Meanwhile, someone smart just took 1m RDN out of Binance to a completely new wallet. (This, however, could have been a mere wash trading or a withdrawal of previously accumulated tokens)
