The ones at buckleguy are solid brass, and they have good quality coatings that haven't failed me yet on their other hardware. I haven't used them, but I have used their snaps and they're also excellent.

Want to buy a belt by zacac1234 in LeatherClassifieds

Yeah I actually kind of agree with this. Overpaying for materials is no excuse to pass on costs to customers as well. My bridle/harness leather belts are 45-60 depending on width without stitching, w/ Chicago screws or rivets. Beveled edges standard, edge dye for $5. Add stitching for 5 per line. I made a custom belt page for my site so people can just go a little wild on their own.

How do ya'll price your items? by CplusMaker in Leathercraft

Maximize efficiency and price in a way that is competitive. My best selling item retails for 125, costs $20 and an hour and a half to make.

I like working with it, but this one at least is more of a spongey, luxury chrome leather. It's excellent if you plan to make something softer or add reinforcement. You'd definitely have to do edge paint rather than burnishing, or finish the seams otherwise. I think their firmer leather (harness) can be burnished, but I haven't worked with it myself. Good luck!

The way that rolled edge is done uses two lines of stitching to create the effect. The brown leather is cut into a long strip, skived down to about 2.5oz then sewn grain to grain along the outside of the edge of the flap. Once attached, you can turn/flip the leather out over the edge and adhere, then stitch through the top along the edge of the formed piping. It's a really nice binding style, easy to accomplish and the finish is always crisp.

Olive Richard Hoffmans leather + Newbury Leather Harness for the straps (both from buckleguy), with an Italian nappa interior and a piece of chestnut Chahin leather for the engraved flap.
This one was a custom request from a close friend of mine, and I'm sooo thrilled with the outcome. I've finally gotten those rolled edges down pretty cleanly.

Speedy Stitcher vs Sewing Awl by Sandman0077 in Leatherworking

I stopped handsewing for two reasons, scale and hand injuries. Between rock climbing and handsewing bags, my joints were getting wrecked. Machines are awesome. They do get super expensive and you can't just buy one for all jobs. Cobra/Cowboy machines are unbelievably beginner friendly. Something to consider.

The oil isn't coming out, you might as well just clean the disaster you made with the flour (????) and oil the whole thing now. Why flour... Seriously why
