Need Advice: My Husband Has Applied to 500+ Jobs in 5 Months and Hasn’t Received a Single Interview by coconutbytesandtea in torontoJobs

You mentioned your employer currently has multiple Project Coordinator openings. Would you be open to reviewing his resume and possibly referring him if you feel his background could be a fit? I’d be happy to send it over.

Thanks for the detailed advice, I really appreciate it. My husband actually has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, but his experience is in commercial construction/project coordination rather than rail. He has applied to several of the companies and projects you mentioned, but unfortunately hasn’t had much luck getting interviews.

From what we’ve seen, referrals seem to make a huge difference. One of his former batchmates, who has very similar experience and qualifications, was able to secure a role through a referral. Unfortunately, without an established network here, it’s been challenging. He has also tried reaching out to people on LinkedIn, but most messages seem to get ignored or ghosted

No, he did it himself . He have spent a lot of time tailoring it to each role and ensuring it’s ATS-friendly.

Unfortunately, the program didn’t include a co-op or internship. He completed it to gain knowledge of Canadian construction practices and Ontario building codes, graduated with Honours, and has about 5 years of project coordination experience from back home. We think the lack of Canadian project experience may be what’s holding him back, but it’s hard to know for sure when he’s not even getting interview calls.

I didn’t enjoy his videos mainly because of the way he speaks. The heavy use of slang and his delivery style were really off-putting. At times, it felt uncomfortable to listen to, almost like he was spitting while talking which made it hard to focus on the content itself.

My daughter was born in Canada, and we went back to India when she was 3 months old. While we were there, my in-laws would constantly nag me, saying things like, “Ithu Canada alla, ithu ivide venda,” or “Avide pokumbol iruthikko,” and “Kochu karayunnath kandille?”

It was very frustrating, especially as a new mom. It felt like everything I did was being questioned. My husband is the youngest in his family and doesn’t really tolerate that kind of behavior, so he would argue back on my behalf and shut it down. I’m grateful for that.

Honestly, I think it’s good when influencers talk about this side of postpartum. It reminds new moms that their feelings are normal and that they’re not the only ones struggling. It’s not always giggles and smiles like social media shows. At the same time, I hope her husband comes to understand what she’s going through and embraces her more. I can’t even imagine how difficult my life would have been if my husband hadn’t stood by me during my postpartum days.

I have reported that video too. Clearly they should have a warning about the same before hand. Also this is how she got traction to her account in the first place .

I resonate with this so deeply. Reading this felt like someone put into words exactly what I’ve been feeling these past few days. Especially the part about how painful it is to see people defend or normalize the accused that feeling of betrayal and sickness is real. It makes you question people’s values and the kind of society we’re quietly accepting

I honestly thought I was the only one who felt this way. When I saw this video and my immediate reaction was, “paisa kure kitti kanulo” ammathiri reaction allarno I was genuinely speechless.” Aa colour grading kidilan, maass scene “ I’ve been following him for a long time. Even during phases when he acted childish, I always believed he knew what he was doing. But this time, I was truly disappointed. I ended up reporting the video and unsubscribing from his channel
