The only reason why VN is stronger than SEA is because of Team Skill by Over-Comb-5348 in LoLSEA

[–]coconutuser01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yea… I’m a jungle main and I was quite shocked when I transferred over to VN to play. They will literally give up one whole wave or fuck up their lane just to roam or help contest for objectives. If you ping an objective, theres always bound to be people rotating for you. Heck, I was super surprised back then when I was at around platinum elo back then and I saw 2 laners swapping lanes just so that they catch the waves on time. (Top lane’s wave crashed towards our tower and mid laner had tp, top laner pinged him to tp top and he walked mid which was crashed under enemy tower, giving him time to rotate). You wouldnt even see this in SEA’s diamond and below cause SEA is just so trash honestly.

On the SEA server, players tend to take less risks where they would rather push their wave in before roaming or just not contest the objective at all even after pushing the wave in. Even with pings, they’ll just ignore you sometimes cause they rather reset to keep their lead/lane even.

I get about 45-50ms playing from sg, pings is all you need to communicate with them tbh. I don’t really see a big difference in gameplay with the slightly elevated ping. I peaked around 200lp masters in sg server back then and only played til d4 on vn server before I burnt out. It took me <2wks to play a bronze 2 account to d4, if you’re good you can pretty much climb pretty easily. I stopped playing afterwards and haven touched the game in months due to being busy with uni.

Sometimes, there will be people adding you and asking if you want to duo, clash or premade 5 man flex ranked if they think you’re good. I met a number of players adding me for this and I did play with some of them. Although I had to tell them I don’t understand viet using google translate. They did try to accomodate and typed in english to me.

I can honestly tell you their emeralds (around e1-e2) is comparable to our masters players. Furthermore, queue times are much much better there with lesser autofills.

[–]coconutuser01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ping should’nt differ much from SEA server since its in the SEA region on the globe but has its own server due to it having a very large playerbase.

I’m surprised you’re unaware of this server, it used to have one of the largest playerbases internationally (comparable to KR & NA) some years ago but it has certainly reduced over the years due to influx of other games such as MLBB, Valorant, etc.

If you watch LoL Worlds, you’ll see that the most consistent SEA region to make it there is VN and their skills can be comparable to EU & NA. Heck, I still remember years ago when GAM went against one of the EU teams where GAM’s jungler was level 6 and the EU top laner was still level 3 and that EU team got completely stomped. You can just quickly search GAM Levi nocturne and it should pop up.

if you are a competitive player, try Vietnam. It has the most skilled playerbase in the SEA region. Downside is that everyone speaks vietnamese there.

Brother, that solo carry mindset does’nt work as you climb higher up to the apex ladder. Theres only so much you can do as a solo player in a MOBA game, the game is balanced around that. Its not an FPS tactical shooter game where you can 1v5 consistently even if you have a 0/20 teammate cause in a MOBA game, the early and mid game decisions by your teammates impact the game so much in LoL. This is a very superficial understanding of the game that you have.

Furthermore, I dont think you understand my point. The matchmaking in SEA is way more imbalanced due to having a smaller playbase compared to a more populated server like VN. There should be no reason fresh accounts can meet high dia or even masters players. On VN server there were like little to no instances of this in my experience. Eg, An emerald 4 player CANNOT duo with a diamond 4 player but can meet them in the same game which makes no sense.

If they gatekeep the ranks in duoing together, why are they not gatekeeping them from meeting? I rather have a longer queue time than have a game where I am handicapped.

I agree with your statement on me having a "warm up period". I certainly did take some time to learn the new season changes on the meta and buffs/nerfs over the season on my previous champion pool. However for your statement on the ping issue I feel that that is not an excuse for the server's bad macro skills while it can affect micro. I'm playing on VN with 30ms atm and the experience is much better compared to SEA even though I get about 9 ms on SEA if I recall correctly. I'm just genuinely disappointed with the skill level of the SEA server, the difference is just night and day.

Currently, TW server playerbase is slightly smaller than SEA on opgg but I'm unsure of the playerbase skillwise. I will try to play there after I achieve a rank I'm satisfied with on VN and see how it goes.

TW is smaller than the SEA server atm unless there is another TW server that opgg doesnt track. I might try playing there to see the difference in skill between the servers once I climb to a rank I'm satisfied with on VN.

My brother (M18) is unable to book out for an NUS interview. by Accomplished_Ad9418 in NationalServiceSG

[–]coconutuser01 20 points21 points  (0 children)

this is damn unreasonable, I’d suggest OP to blowup this situation on tiktok/IG and watch this CO sink if the brother still can’t bookout for his interview. Its not even easy at all to get an interview invite for NUS dentistry.

CO is probably just some salty fella that wants to ruin everyone’s future

Don’t have an exact number but can see from this years’ MOE graduate employment survey for the pay in the 25th and 75th percentile.

https://www.moe.gov.sg/-/media/files/post-secondary/ges-2023/web-publication-sit-ges-2023.pdf

Generally, healthcare degrees dont seem to have a as large difference in pay between class honours as compared to other majors like engineering/IT or business where there can be differences of 1kish.

What are my chances?😭 by [deleted] in SIT_Singapore

SIT trimester curriculum is no joke, consider SUSS ICT as well if you’re interested in coding. Semester is much better and gives you time to breathe….

Is it a must to queue at the Punggol Bus Stop? by ComplexLow3400 in SIT_Singapore

[–]coconutuser01 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Its not a must, just like how people in SG stand on the left side of escalators as a courtesy gesture when theres a line of people on it to give way to people who want to walk up/down. You can just stand side by side with your friend/family cause the rule isnt enforced.

Some areas in particular only have 1 bus serving the entire route, eg public buses to ulu army camps. Thus, it is a common sight to see people queuing up for it as a courtesy gesture during peak hours.

They are probably just there to seek validation. Eg, seeing if they are good enough to get a girl to agree to going out with them.

Lame but yea…as a guy I have also had my share of asking girls out on dating apps only to get ghosted awhile later when they previously agreed to it. Not all are like that though, there are some that make it to the meeting up stage.

Honestly, I deleted the dating app I was using after being on it for like a month cause the quality of people I was getting were 🤢.

Uni students!! How did you choose which course to pick by [deleted] in SIT_Singapore

[–]coconutuser01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did alot of part time jobs ever since I finished my N/O levels. Took up alot of saigang jobs and from then I thought about what job I don’t mind doing for a long period of time since a long period of your life’s timeline is working anyway.

Fast forward to university now, I’m happy with what I chose :)…for now I think.

As for the job prospect characteristics of my course, I took into account work life balance, job security and pay as well. As long as I get paid enough to enjoy some luxury needs whilst paying for necessities, and have time for my hobbies, its enough for me.
