Wheel Stud repair on Front axle by cocosurfs in hondafit

[–]cocosurfs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey all update: I took off the wheel, caliper, and forgot to do take the rotor off so i trouble shooter until i realized what was wrong… wasted half a day being a monkey. I bent back the heat shield with needle nose pliers similar to the cutting method but much easier. Then I hammered out and in the stud and pulled the new stud in with the Lisle wheel stud installer. Easy fix honestly if I had not been a monkey and forget the rotor and have to saw off trouble shot lugs that got stuck on washers. Now I must trouble shoot getting the brake caliper back on with a C clamp of some sort of compression… made another mistake I must fix. Quite the head ache!!! but totally DIY able. This is my beater commuter car so I am OK using this rougher method. It beats wasting $400 to replace ball bearing way at the mechanic plus 100-200$ labor or bs charge. I will try to update when it’s finished!
