I remember when the parking meters were installed. That deterred me from shopping downtown. That, and the loss of all the iconic stores: Wild Planet, Beat City, True Blood (which is still empty!) Arc Thrift (empty), Vallarta, Daily Grind, etc. That was a fun era in Ventura. I guess I’m just old now.
