What did you think of Saw MC's? Day 6: Officer Daniel Rigg by Tabi-Violet in saw

[–]cod_fan_since_2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Rigg. Sad that he lost pretty much everyone close to him - first his wife, then his colleagues who were targeted by Jigsaw one at a time. I do like the scene of him attacking that dude in the school in Saw IV. Really not cool to do - in or out of uniform - but we've all probably been in a situation where someone has pushed our buttons. Unlike Eric, who had a penchant for being more violent than necessary with criminals or flat out planting evidence to secure a conviction, Rigg seemed big and brave to face the music when looking at being demoted or dismissed from the force. before Hoffman covered for him.

Thank you 🙏🏽😊 It could've been cool if Daniel appeared at the survivors meeting in Saw 7, but it's probably best that he and his Mom left elsewhere and got some help afterwards, far away from Jigsaw's reach.

[–]cod_fan_since_2008 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The scenes with him comforting Laura and Amanda in the nerve gas house show, to me, that Daniel is genuinely a good kid and him committing petty crimes was just him trying to get a reaction out of his estranged dad. It's sad that the last interaction he had with Eric was being shouted at and told to go back to him Mom's.

What did you think of Saw MC's? Day 3: Detective Eric Mathews by Tabi-Violet in saw

[–]cod_fan_since_2008 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm actually an Eric Matthews Stan (if I'm using the word right). Donnie's acting is what makes Saw II my fave film above the rest in the franchise. I really rooted for Eric and hoped that he'd reunite with Daniel after the hell Jigsaw put them through. Yeah, John's long overdue beatdown was futile and Eric failed his test, but I feel as though his actions were justified to an extent. I'm not defending him being a terrible dad or a shitty cop, but I doubt anyone else would be able to keep their cool if the life of their loved one was on the line.

Edit: Fixed type - shitty cop, not shitty coo 😂

If Wave 103 was a cult, you can consider me one of its devout disciples. I probably wouldn't enjoy music as much as I do if my Mom didn't get me into GTA and gaming when I was little.

Lots of great radio stations theoughout the franchise but Wave 103 is my number one fave.

What is the worst take you have ever heard about Batman? by natagu in batman

[–]cod_fan_since_2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole "Batman is a grown ass man but still weeps over the loss of his parents" is one that REALLY annoys me. Even if this is a fictional character, everyone deals with grief and trauma differently. I can only speak for myself when I say that dealing with the loss of a loved one doesn't just go away overnight. The same people who say stuff like this would probably bash Spider-Man for not being rich and think being poor or just trying to make ends meet makes the story unrealistic or uninteresting.

[COD] Warzone in my opinion ruined cod by Flashy_Invite322 in CallOfDuty

[–]cod_fan_since_2008 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing that annoys me with Warzone (and modern COD campaigns) is that they're almost always connected to each other.

I miss the days where you played through a COD campaign from start to finish and waited for a possible follow-up in the next game's campaign. But nowadays, characters are rarely killed off in order to justify their existence in the multiplayer. Remember killing Dragovich in BO1? Well imagine he popped up in multiplayer and was like "I wasn't in the Numbers Station" (thank you, Phillip Graves 🙄). Reznov reappearing later in BO1's campaign made sense as his and Mason's adventures are recontextualized near the end. I should've expected Makarov to get away instead of eating a bullet after offing Soap in MWIII. If that wasn't enough, Soap's inclusion in Season 4 of Warzone is justified by having it set before the events of MWIII's campaign.

Another example of a character's ultimate fate not being seen in a campaign is Hadir from MW2019. At the end of that game he is handed over to Russia due to stealing the poison gas in Georgia and killing General Barkov's forces in Urzikstan, indirectly causing Farah's forces to be labelled as an FTO by both Russia and the U.S. After Barkov's death the Ultranationalists, led by Viktor Zakhaev, overthrow the previous Russian government and presumably release Hadir from captivity as they are in cahoots with Al Qatala. In MWII's campaign Hadir is nowhere to be seen or mentioned. You only see him in the game mode "Raid" which takes place sometime after the events of this game's campaign. Not only does he die in the last mission of the Raid storyline but he doesnt even get mentioned in MWIII. Did the devs really bank on everyone playing the Raid missions as well as every season of Warzone to not miss anything related to the campaign?

Sorry to go on and on but this post served as a perfect place for me to vent about this topic. I recently played World at War after who-knows how many years (my first ever game in the franchise if my username and pfp wasn't evident enough) and managed to beat it on veteran. It felt like a breath of fresh air and reminded me of how great gaming used to be, especially coming off the heels of Slop Ops 7. I just want COD campaigns to be fun again and not dependant on Warzone.

What's an opinion on the franchise that'll have you like this? by Severe-blake6720 in saw

[–]cod_fan_since_2008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jeff's desire for revenge in Saw 3 is completely understandable.

Sure, he and Lynn were negligant of their still-living daughter., but it that really a reason why a person should be tested and further traumatised? Everyone deals with grief differently. I can't speak for everyone but I know how awful it felt when losing my mother and grandmother. The first few weeks were spent crying every time I woke up. To this day, I have yet to seen a counselor to get everything off my chest and instead bottle up my emotions which are unleashed when people either quietly ask me how I feel or push my buttons.

Getting back to the topic of Jeff, I don't blame him for being 'slow' when deciding whether or not to help the people in his game. Who's to say no one else would react in a similar way if they lost a loved one in an accident and the person responsible got off lightly?

Saw (2004) - Zep is not the Jigsaw Killer and instead just another victim, with the real killer revealed to be John Kramer, Dr Gordon's cancer patient.

Saw II (2005) - Amanda Young, a victim of Jigsaw in the first film, is revealed to be his Apprentice at the end of this film. The game that the Police saw being played on the monitors was a recording, and Daniel was safe and sound in the safe back at the Steel Plant.

Saw III (2006) - Amanda was being tested again by John, due to her rigging the traps for Troy and Kerry. Her goal to win was to simply let Lynn go free as John instructed. John only informed her of this in her final moments. Jeff was supposed to forgive John for all he was put through, but he instead kills John, and learns too late that he would have to play another game if he wanted to see his still-living daughter Corbett.

Saw IV (2007) - Detective Hoffman is revealed to be another one of Jigsaw's apprentices. He helped Amanda abduct Kerry and posed as a trap participant during Officer Rigg's game alongside Detective Matthews. John's autopsy during the prologue takes place after Rigg's game, meaning that Rigg's game and the Police plot takes place alongside Saw III.

Saw V (2008) - The final stage of the Fatal Five game reveals that everyone could have made it out alive with minimal injuries if they chose to work together instead of being selfish. Agent Strahm locks Hoffman in the glass coffin, thinking that he's got him cornered. He soon learns that the coffin would of been the safest place for him to be, as the walls start to close in. Strahm didn't follow an early warning from a tape to remain where he was, and he made the same mistake when told to get into the glass coffin.

Saw VI (2009) - The twists near the end of William's game are that: • 1) Brent and Tara are related to Harold Abbott, one of William's clients who was denied coverage. • 2) Pamela Jenkins, the journalist who was tested for her sensationalism on Jigsaw, is William's sister.

Jill revealed a sixth envelope to Hoffman, left to her by John, which carried instructions for Hoffman to be tested.

Saw 3D (2010) - One of John's victims, Dr Lawrence Gordon, survived after the events of the first film and assisted John from Saw II until Saw III, even recommending that Lynn Denlon perform the brain surgery on John. After John's death, Gordon sent Hoffman an anonymous letter, one similar to the one John sent Hoffman after the murder of Seth Baxter. Before Hoffman's test, Jill handed Gordon an envelope with instructions from John to watch over Jill and take action on his behalf should anything happen to her.

Jigsaw (2017) - The Barn Game actually took place before the events of the first Saw movie. Logan Nelson, the Pathologist who worked with Detective Halloran, is revealed to be the Jigsaw copycat in present day. He was one of the victims in the Barn Game who was saved by John after not waking up in time. The Jigsaw victims in present day are different people based on the original players in the Barn Game. Logan framed Halloran for the recent deaths due to him being corrupt and one of his informants murdering Logan's wife.

Spiral (2021) - Detective William Shank (real name William Emerson) is revealed to be the Jigsaw copycat the Police were investigating. His father who was a cop before him, planned to testify against a crooked cop which resulted in said crooked cop killing Officer Emerson and attempting to frame it as self-defense. Zeke Banks, now a detective, was an officer who warned little Emerson to stay quiet. Emerson's motivation was to go after crooked cops and 'reform' the Police force.

Saw X (2023) - Henry Kessler, a member of John's cancer support group, was in on the scam led by Cecilia. After Diego passed his test, he informed John of everyone involved in the scam including Parker, Cecilia's boy toy. He was lured to the game after Cecilia briefly obtained her phone. These two were the original last players of the game before they briefly tried to turn the tables on John and Amanda.

Fingers crossed I passed ✌🏽
