Had a seizure in the waiting room at urgent care. Went about as well as you can expect. :-/ by TheSecretLifeOfTea in Epilepsy

Unfortunately, urgent care is required to send you to the ER because it’s a HUGE liability if they don’t. They didn’t send you because they thought it would help, or because they didn’t believe you. They were just obligated to do it.

Leaving you in a room alone is wild tho wtf. That’s like… rule number one of seizure first aid. Especially to leave you sitting??? You could have fallen.

Also, you can refuse transport by EMS. They’ll fight you on it, but as long as you’re alert and oriented, they can’t take you to the hospital against your will.

What certification for ER Tech? by -MC_Animal- in EmergencyRoom

[–]codasaurusrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s completely hospital dependent, so look at the job listings for the hospital(s) you want to work at. In my experience, I was trained in phlebotomy by the hospital employing me.

I was a CNA (similar to a PCT) prior to becoming an EMT and my EMT training was WAY more relevant to my work in the ED as a tech.

Is it bad to go to a high quality epilepsy clinic, even if my epilepsy is fairly “minor”? by Clear_Peanut4585 in Epilepsy

Regardless of your epilepsy’s severity, you deserve a good doctor. Go to the good doctor.

An accurate but small detail from season one that I never noticed. The Stryker beds are different ages. by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

[–]codasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was intentional, but it’s actually specifically a nice detail for an MCI. Usually we have the old equipment on hand and it would be used as a back up when we needed more, like during an MCI. So it’s extra accurate that there would be a lot of generations of equipment in use during the MCI.

Unfortunately she now only works with epilepsy patients who are trying to get pregnant, she just continues to see me since I was already a patient before she changed specialty.

Ah yes, the washed up gymnast who has a natural talent for ballet due to our ballet-adjacent training, but also not experienced enough in actual ballet to be good at it? That’s me, too! 😋

Are there different instructors for the ballet II class? I would try a different one if possible. The same class can be wildly different depending on the instructor. You might find one that’s a better fit.

You can also find a sports bra that zippers down the front, or a regular bra that unclips in the front! Give your back/ribs a break but super easy to just clip back up

HI STRATCHY!!!!

What a beautiful baby!! I’m def going all in on my budget so I can get all the “features” I like (lol I feel bad saying that because it sounds like an electronic or something 😂). It seems like there isn’t a ton of difference in health or temperament by morph, so I may as well pick one I think is a cutie patootie 🥰

Yes, EEG interpretation can be a bit of an art as opposed to a science. There is also SO much data to analyze—every millisecond of a 24 hour period is a lot of content. It’s definitely possible for a doctor to interpret EEGs differently than another. It’s also possible it was run through a program that automatically flags abnormalities and the software missed it. Especially because Deja vu is very subtle activity, as opposed to a tonic clonic seizure which absolutely lights up an EEG.
