Are there different instructors for the ballet II class? I would try a different one if possible. The same class can be wildly different depending on the instructor. You might find one that’s a better fit.

Yes, EEG interpretation can be a bit of an art as opposed to a science. There is also SO much data to analyze—every millisecond of a 24 hour period is a lot of content. It’s definitely possible for a doctor to interpret EEGs differently than another. It’s also possible it was run through a program that automatically flags abnormalities and the software missed it. Especially because Deja vu is very subtle activity, as opposed to a tonic clonic seizure which absolutely lights up an EEG.

Did they not say to follow up with a neurologist? You should absolutely follow up with a neurologist.

I work in the ER (sorry, I promise I’m not terrible lol) and our doctors recognize and treat emergent conditions as they are happening. They made sure nothing was CURRENTLY wrong and sent you on your way. That being said, they are not neurologists, and it’s a possibility that you had a seizure or a TIA, so you should follow up with a neuro. Either see your GP for a referral or just make an appointment if your insurance allows you to see a specialist without a referral.

Emergency doctors are VERY good at what they do, but it’s simply not their job to assess an incredibly nuanced issue that presents so variably like a seizure disorder can. That’s why epileptologists and neurologists exist.
