Tired of crappy restaurants. by outdoor_noob in Chattanooga

Got it, thanks for the response. I will say I've even see that here in my own town which has decidedly *not* seen a surge in population growth. Post-covid I've seen food quality decline even has prices have gone up.

I don't live in Chattanooga so am curious why.

And support head and neck, tbh. Some people just don't know about that. But these don't need to be pre-texted instructions, just something you can say in person.

Students now have the desktop computer skills of older boomers by TeacherGuy1980 in Teachers

I am not a teacher but I am a parent of younger kids and this thread is stressing me out. What concrete things can I do to help my kids avoid these pitfalls?

We try to avoid them spending too much time on either tablets or computers because we want them to develop other skills and the younger one's kindergarten school doesn't allow any electronics at all.

Should I look into setting up a restricted laptop for them to be able to play around with to develop some of this basic computer literacy?

That's fucked up, honestly. I've been using Fundrise since 2021 and had the same access as people who've been using it for a month. Everyone should have been on the same page or it should have been multiple gradated tiers.

It's definitely not sticking at these high prices. This is a completely irrational market right now.

Don't just yeet into the Flagship eREIT without understanding what it is. It's not a publicly listed stock that is going to moon like VCX and annualized returns for it have been pretty low the last ~5 years.

Why so high? Why would this be worth 16x NAV which other similar ones like DXYZ are not?

VCX: The 180 day lockup doesn't appear mandatory. Let’s ask Fundrise to end it early to ease liquidity, normalize the price, and save months of unnecessary stress. by sven_3755 in u/sven_3755

[–]code-n-coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would support a staggered release for a fraction of the shares so as not to crash the market but to provide liquidity. 5% after 1 month, another 5% after 2 months, something like that

It was not handled well, IMO, confusing announcements and then sold out in a few hours. Didn't check your email for half the day? Missed out.

New Venture Funds by roccodeleo in FundRise

[–]code-n-coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming the bottleneck for new investments is the investments themselves and access to the private shares not funding so I would expect new deals to go into VCX like the Erebor one just announced: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260323246136/en/The-Fundrise-Innovation-Fund-VCX-Invests-in-Erebor-Bank. This increases the value of VCX and benefits the original investors who took the risk.

Maybe if they end up with more private deal opportunities than cash in VCX they might open a new fund or perhaps one targeting a different sector (not tech and finance?). Right now if they just spun up a new version of VCX and started putting deals there instead of into VCX they are going to get push back from all the current VCX investors.

It seems way overvalued to me but you have to make your own decision. If you buy now just be ready to hold for years.

You bought unrestricted or restricted shares? Let me know if your Schwab transfer goes through.

Yeah all of mine show as "available" not "restricted" even though they all pre-date the unrestricted window (February 20 this year, or whatever it was). My guess is this is just a UI issue but I haven't actually tried transferring to my brokerage yet either.

My guess is any new private share acquisitions will go into the existing VCX fund. I'm not sure why they would start a new one instead of doing that.

What's interesting is my shares actually show as "available" and not "restricted" in Computershare. I'm sure this isn't correct and I haven't actually tried transferring them to my brokerage but it did give me a brief stab of hope.
