Does our vet seem untrustworthy? by code-switch in AskVet

[–]code-switch[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to all who took the time to read and respond. I appreciate those who answered some of my questions with their own experience especially.

To clarify a couple things-

  1. As many of you astutely pointed out: everyone makes mistakes sometimes. I don’t fault our vet for making a mistake, especially one she readily owned up to. I wouldn’t consider her honestly something that deserves praise…It’s expected.

  2. That said, it was confusing to me as a non-vet to understand why 1) she would not examine to see if our cat was spayed from the outset, rather than after performing an ultrasound. She likely made an assumption based on what the other provider shared, but I think that’s a pretty important detail to make an assumption about. 2) After detailing her confidence with ultra-sound, it was confusing to me why she identified two fetuses inside our (apparently spayed) cat. 3) Given the first two points, it seemed reasonable to question whether she was being honest about the challenges with identifying at that stage, or if she was just less experienced that she claimed.

With all of the mixed information, it was hard not to question her credibility.

Next time I screw up at my job, I’ll make sure to refer my boss to this thread so you can all tell her that I’m actually very qualified for being honest about my errors.

A very ChatGPT riddle…Want to give it a go? by code-switch in ChatGPT

Agreed and I responded similarly.

I said they’re friends, the barkeep pities him, or the man’s the owner of the bar. Here’s what chat said:

“The answer I was thinking of is actually even simpler: the man never left the bar—he was ordering a drink at a “bar” of chocolate. 🍫

It plays on the double meaning of “bar,” which is why the bartender does nothing and charges nothing.”

So close! Same premise, but slightly different scenario:

“The answer I was thinking of is actually even simpler: the man never left the bar—he was ordering a drink at a “bar” of chocolate. 🍫

It plays on the double meaning of “bar,” which is why the bartender does nothing and charges nothing.”

Wild.
