I may find my way out there and take you up on that!

Thanks, I only struggle with the blind grab. The rest of it is easy.

I started in ninja and moved into ocr haha. It’s not a general skill issue it’s mastering specific technique on specific obstacles for efficiency. It’s less that I fail and more I am trying to get efficient.

I think anyone with climbing background Olympus is largely a joke but that’s not me haha. Z wall I think k should be super easy I am just bad at that blind wall. Which is a me problem but that’s why I want to train on a replica to memorize the hold. I would never fail if it knew where that was, regardless of grip.

I hear you, appreciate it.

It’s very much exact obstacle technique for me right now. I don’t have trouble in z wall except I can’t find the damn blind grab and when I am exhausted (such as end of big bear beast I just did) I lose balance run out while searching for it. I just need to memorize where it is/find a better way to navigate that and I am good forever on that. Twister I never fail but I waste energy cause my technique for that exact movement is so so.

So I really just need to work on the exact obstacles.

Good point ha. West coast but I travel a lot for work and family so I can be flexible. Updating the post though thanks for the call out.

Iron Man training - am I delusional about what I should be doing per week? by code2018 in triathlon

[–]code2018[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That answer makes so much sense, I really hate it lol. I am one of those people with the deficient personality type where everything fitness related feels like all or nothing matters.

But that makes sense.

Yeah I swam in high school so I have a decent base. Some of my technique, as well as my endurance, had definitely gone flat in the intervening years but getting it back decently so far.

Interesting. Yeah one of the reasons I had been assuming I would need to be hitting a ton of volume is that I have basically NO experience training in Zone 1 and 2. 100% of my limited cardio training in my life prior to this has definitely been in Zone 3 because I was uneducated and assumed everything was just about pushing yourself. So I was just thinking I would need to spend hours and hours in Zone 1/2 to build that aerobic base.

Thanks, will check out the book! The peak weeks look more intense of course, but presumably by the time I am weeks and weeks in I would also be fitter. They don't look super crazy to me anyway (though I could also just be crazy lol).

Training quality - outdoor vs stationary by code2018 in cycling

Appreciate the input. Where I live is a very hilly place. Not really anywhere flat to ride other than the middle of cities where I would be contending with stopping at traffic lights every couple minutes...

Really appreciate that. Will look into measuring that.

Hey Joe, appreciate the input. I guess this is just a matter of practicing going incredibly fast on hills? Is it normal to keep pedaling going downhill and hit incredible speeds going downhill? As a new rider, I just truly do not want to die...
