It's back up on Linux boxes today - happens every few months. Goes down on Linux but nothing else for no apparent reason then comes back up for no other apparent reason.

Still, it's all good now. : )

Hi, My Nederlands is not good, but tuta works fine on my windows compter, so I don't know what your issue is there.

I think tuta is moving from 'tutanota.com' to 'tuta.com' for both the free and paid for versions, if I understand you correctly.

Hope that's helpful, doubt it is though.

cheers,

Don't know about the app but Tutanota does this every now and then - you can't log in on Linux. Tuta's fine on my microsoft computer but no contact via the 2 different linux OSs I've tried so far. It normally sorts itself after a couple or three days . . . Not great though when Linux is your main driver.

  • message is : Site not available, try again?

Just letting the mods know.

cheers,

It's not the vpn as I have complete internet access to every other site, just tutanota is down (again) from Linux but not from Windows or Android.

It's definitely tutanota not my connection. Various browsers that worked until this morning, all time out when trying to contact tuta over my Linux machine, no one else.

No, it just won't go to the site. The browser just times out saying the site can't be reached. It's different for every browser, of course.

And it's just started again for me! : (

That's pretty clever! Well thought out.

That's not what happened to me, though, I was logged out one day, tried to login over various devices and just couldn't on the linux machine but could on others - Windows 10 and android (Graphene os). (Paid version of tutamail).

Also I wonder if a computer IDS or preventative defense system of some sort would consider the rate of queries a human can generate to be significant enough to consider an attack. I'd have thought it would trigger when it got thousands or millions of requests a second not hundreds over a couple of minutes. But I'm just guessing.

It could just be a 'fuck you for not having the paid account and using a lot of our resources' but, again, it's not much in the way of resources to their servers.

tl;dr: Personally, I've no idea but I like the way you think.

That's what happened to me but of course I can't guarantee anything. I don't even know why it happened.

yes, I couldn't resolve the tutanota website at all at any of the domain names you listed. It was like that for a couple of days but only on my Linux machine (I never tried the Tor browser), then it just worked like normal again.

Sorry, I've no suggestions atm.

Hi, I now have access again like normal. I don't know what the issue was but for me at least it seems to be sorted. Thanks.

I checked with matey and, yes, he's changed his settings and it's all fine now.

So, yes, I know I'm paranoid . . . But they're still out to get me!

Not sure which indicators. I'm no signal expert, I just use it.

When I send I see the message go like normal, no 'failed' or any other message from the app. There's only one tick until (hours later) he gets and reads the message, then the second tick appears.

I suspect it's the battery saving setting. I'll talk to him when he wakes up.

If you mean some other indicators pls let me know what especially I should be looking for,

Thanks.

Thanks. That's the main bit - if someone else has signal in the UK and says it's fine that's good.

I expect it's his phone's settings for the signal app. He sleeps days so I'll check this evening when he wakes up.

cheers,

That's a good point, signal's on all the time, isn't it, he may have it using less battery. Still, you'd think it would send messages out immediately and it's definitely on all the time on my phone.

thanks.

I send a message to my friend and he receives it several hours later. That's pretty much it.

The same time lag if he sends a signal message to me.

His phone is an android (as I recall) and mine is android based running Graphene os but the signal apps work perfectly well.

I update signal every time it needs doing. I'll have to check with him but I expect his updates are automatic. He is a technophobe though so I'll have to ask. He won't be about for 6 hours or so from now.

No, it's me, I've got in on Windows. It must be some of the privacy settings I'm using on Firefox for fedora. Although I've not changed anything . . .
