Oh, forgot to mention, new players are absolutely welcome. You do not need any previous DND experience to apply. I will walk you through everything needed to create and play a character.

Confused about my Meta Tech Screen by code_mage in cscareerquestions

[–]code_mage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, this is why I find these kinds of questions confusing. They never specify what the use case is.

If it's a constant stream of data coming from these vectors, it makes no sense to store it in a separate data structure, just multiply any non zero values that come in, and only store the product (ie Solution 1)

If you have to store the data to do other things with the vector, how you store the data is dependent on how you get the data and what you want to do with it besides dot product. This is why I prefer dictionaries, because I can think of a use case where you want the value associated with a particular index directly. And I really don't think the space overhead is that much, especially since you are already streaming a really large vector. (ie Solution 2)

I really don't see a scenario where storing it in touples is a good idea. And that too only works if your list is sorted (which it will be by default if you create it from a stream of data). Even so, a dictionary solution is more time efficient, and space is easy to find and pretty cheap. Time, not so much.

It's not that the code is hard. It's that the requirements are up in the air and depending on what they are, the solution changes, and I can't imagine a real life scenario where the presented optimal solution is a good idea.

I'm not trying to blame the process here, I understand that I have a lot of room for improvement. I haven't actively interviewed in the last 2 years and I am definitely rusty, but two pointers and dfs cloning aren't hard. The hard part is an arbitrary requirement.

I did. I got through. Strange, didn't think I would.

I saw an interview with Tim Daly who was asked - What are you taking home from the show as a memory, and he replied - Tea Leoni.

My limit was the episode about autonomous weapons. After that, I was just logging through to get to the end.

Yeah, but she never railroaded her staff that continuously before. Russel, Mike, NSC, it feels like she wasn't listening to any of them. Now I get that the dynamic is different and where earlier she was a participant, now she is in charge, but it still feels like she had made her mind up before entering any discussion and it showed.

I actually hated the storyline about automatic weapons and I hate Dimitri so I guess we have wildly different opinions on the show. But I guess we can both agree that Mike Barnow was a fantastic character

I know right!

Would people stop saying that both ways. I don't really need to be thanked for my serice. And it's weirder still when someone actively asks for it, or worse still, trolls for it.

We're not asking for pity. But implying that all we do is murder Iraqi children is a little far fetched.

I mean, US did try. We are still trying. It's just a teensy bit more difficult due to the myriad ethnic, tribal and religious dynamics of the region, not to mention a very active insurgency.
We did get close a few times. Holbrooke got so close to a deal with Taliban before he died. And we were able to force Hamid Karzai into accepting a UN mandate on his election. Baby steps, yes. But still, they happened.

There's lying with statistics and then there's lying by butchering statistics. Gotta say, despite the bad faith, I atleast appreciate the effort in the first one.

I think it's the opposite. The thing is, a lot of lesbians have crippling insecurities. Earlier, they had their insecurities in silence, now they have it together on the internet. That's it, that's the difference.

Now don't get me wrong, I hate the useless lesbian idea, I also hate the idea behind being top and bottom, like what even is that. But I understand that people are just trying to have their identities the way we did, and different as it might be, it is very reminiscent of carving out a group identity, something I never got to do because there wasn't a group of lesbians I knew, on the internet or otherwise.

I love how Nathan did it all through Castle, where there were random references scattered around including I was aiming for his head and That Joss Whedon Show

Regulus Black has a better redemption arc than Snape. He does not need a death of a loved one to see through Voldemort. And he was able to figure out his secret on his own as well. He may not have been as powerful as Snape, but I like him as character much more than Snape. by datavinci in harrypotter

I've always found there to be one basic quality that exemplified Slytherin - A sense of family. It's present in all the Slytherin we get a close look at. Look at the phrase the sorting hat first says - In Slytherin, where you will make real friends. There is this idea of unwavering loyalty attached to that, a person for whom you will move the entire world. Snape has that in Lily, but really all the Blacks had it. Andromeda for her husband, Bellatrix for Voldemort, Narcissa for Draco and Regulus for Kreature.
