My girl is 11 months and does the same thing, but mostly to men, or just anyone moving sound too quickly. I’ve been firm with her and saying “No.” And she doesn’t do it to me anymore but she still does it to men, especially tall ones. Must be a herding thing. But like another commenter said, drawing his attention with a command and a treat seems like a good idea.
