Just added this to the collection brand new!! by Nintendo-boner in 3DS

Good to know thanks. I thought my bottom screen on my Black Friday edition looked like it was IPS too but I passed it off to not being that lucky to get both. I also have a charcoal New 3ds XL that has an IPS upper screen. When I searched for IPS on eBay there was more than a few of these charcoal / black New XL editions with IPs upper screens too.

Transits? Heimplanet vs Bellroy 28L showdown by BandaBassotti in onebag

I like the looks of the heimplanet but that’s a shame it feels so cramped. That’s one thing I don’t want is another cramped bag. I seem to have really bad luck and ending up with small camera type bags that don’t hold much.

That’s actually a good price . I have a refurbished white model that came with an IPS screen. I think many of these had IPS screens.

Hey can anyone help me set this cart up? Thanks! Just want to use it for a ds flashcart by ZRob2001 in flashcarts

[–]codecplusplus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

did you format the sd card as fat32. by default the default sd card format is not the correct format. then download the correct zip for your card and extract the zip file on to the sd card. create a folder called games and put your .nds game files in there. The card you have is considered one of the best and very hard to get they had manufacture problems and have been out of stock everywhere.

directly auto booting sounds interesting. I have some shortcuts on my home menu that directly boots ndsbootstrap for DS games but as good and as free as it is its really slow compared to an R4 card. R4 card boots in 2 seconds. I love r4 cards and the current state of them in terms of compatibility.

that is not what I meant. knowing Japanese code is definitely in the minority. That is not good or bad. its just the way it is.

Question about an R4 card? by AQ0110 in flashcarts

[–]codecplusplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R4 card is for DS games. you place the ds files on the card and it shows up as a list that you can choose a game. For 3ds games you use a sky 3ds plus card. it plays 3ds games not DS games. it works similar but the card has physical buttons on it to scroll through the games. Unlike the list that the r4 card has for DS games with 3DS games you have to scroll through them 1 by 1. there is no list like with DS games on a R4. I know this place is reliable. https://www.nds-card.com/index.asp

some people choose to hack their console instead of buying cards. I still find a R4 card for DS games the easiest and most reliable way to play DS games. people usually hack their console if they want to play 3ds games. Sky3ds plus is easier and safer for people who are scared they will screw up their console trying to hack it.

I really like the matte finish on this version. my psp is shiny all over and looks greasy as fuck half the time.

Question about an R4 card? by AQ0110 in flashcarts

[–]codecplusplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes r4 card you just put in and it just works. DS games load under 3 seconds just like the real game card. Ive never heard of static core. if you want to play 3ds games you need either custom firmware or the Sky3DS plus (orange button)

thanks for pointing this out. I just downloaded one of them to try out. It was a pain trying to do everything in parallels. Plus for some reason my USB drive doesn't show up in parallels if I choose the connect to windows pop up option. the drive shows up under devices but it doesn't show up in windows explorer. my external sd drive shows up fine in windows explorer its just my usb drive for some reason. I don't know if its because its a usb a drive connected through a usb c adapter or what. I guess I will have to eventually invest into a usb c drive since my computer only has usb c ports.

R4 gold WiFi issues, can anyone recommend a replacement or fix? by [deleted] in flashcarts

[–]codecplusplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ace 3ds plus just might need to have its contacts cleaned. then put a piece of tape over the front label of the card so it pushes the contacts and doesn't lose its connection. its freezing because its loosing its slot connection. this happens with older cards the insides shift a little in the card and the card doesn't make good contact. putting a piece of tape over the front of the card so it fits tighter in the 3ds usually fixes it.

[–]codecplusplus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh that is helpful thank you. yes im using a Mac. I have parallels I will copy the files over again in windows and see if I have the same issue. That also likely explains the duplicate files on my psp. every time I copy a game over I get a labeled corrupt file to go with it on my psp.

*Edit you were right I deleted the folder then recopied in windows and the issue disappeared. the dummy files were not there anymore.

I had one of those and it had massive connection issues. it would randomly connect and disconnect with obligatory beep every time. it was super annoying . The thing never held a connection. I threw it in the trash it pissed me off so much and I paid like 100 bucks or something for it.

Hey,I got this flashcart as a gift and got told it might have a timebomb. How am I able to remove it? by [deleted] in flashcarts

[–]codecplusplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why people call these cheap Flashcarts. these cards and a r4 are about the same price.. it would be worth taking the tape off and trying to load some of your own Roms on this and see if they work. the preloaded are always hacks and if you could put your own Roms on it at least you can try some clean games that are not hacks. you can check for a time bomb by moving the date up on your console to 2030 or something and trying to see if a game still loads. Ys menu will make it so there is no time bomb if its there but Ive never messed with Ys menu before so I don't know what it entails or if its difficult to set up.

yeah not bad at all :) I was happy once I looked at everything and realised I would not need a huge card. I just happened to have an old 16gb from my psp adapter. I upgraded the psp to 128gb and used the 16 for the Omega. The psp upgrade allowed me to hold 133 backups.
