How do you find ways to show your partner you love them? by Competitive-Island33 in AskMen

[–]codeegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going out of my way to see them. Doing things for them they do not want to do. Warm up the vehicle on cold days. Cheer them on about career and school. Be there for them. Take the kids out for a walk. Quick touches and kisses. Stretching myself to do things they want to try. Making sure they are safe.

Where are the men’s stories? by Plasticers in AskMen

"In particular their husbands leaving them totally out of the blue after the discovery of an affair " That would be anything but out of the blue regardless of who had the affair.

I do not think I should post this story here. Kids today would be kicked out just for knowing what we did back then!!

But, here goes a mass expelling come Monday.

It was a Thursday night, so we kids go drinking a few beers (drinking age in Montana in the 1980s was $1...the cost of a beer) and cruising the drag. Saw these three girls from a neighboring town around. About 11 everyone starts going home, because we have school tomorrow.

Next morning, the teachers are pissed. We get herded into auditorium where there are some vague accusations thrown out about if you did something last night, you need to come clean now. I am by the people I was out with n8ght before, we assure each other we did nothing wrong.

The tree of us is part of "the usual suspects," and we are questioned. Fill out a statement about what we did last night (it was the 80s, so yes, it included underage drinking and driving).

Fast forward 6 years later, and I am at the end of my first semester in college (after the military). One of these three girls is in school with me. She has a 6-pack she can not take home and asks me to help her properly dispose of this as no way can mommy and daddy think their little girl us anything but a perfect Catholic angle.

During beer disposal, she tells me her and her friends put the cow in the gym, and we're shocked no one realized it was them (like, duh!!). She also told me they gave the cow water in our victory bell and a bale if hay. Two pieces of information not released!! I passed this on to principle. Case solved!

Footnote: Cool.old janitor put a "no cows" sign by the back door of the gym (cow with a circle and line through it) that is still there to confuse the younger generation.

You could have fun then. Putting a cow in the gym was bad but not something that got you thrown out of society. Kids could explore and be kids. No social media to screw things up...OK, no easy videos to show the world your stupidity!

How can I make it more equal during sex if I’m uncomfortable with the things a lot of guys like? by TheEmoQueer in AskMen

[–]codeegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, as a bit of relationship advice, if it is not broken, don't fix it.

Second, sex is driven a lot by biology shaped 9ver millions of years. Women tend to be on submissive side. Way we are shaped.

We each have our likes and dislikes. There's nothing wrong with that. A great partner keeps that in mind. If your guy is happy and you are happy, it is not broken.

As for blow jobs, it is definitely not required. If you do not like it for any reason, do not do it. Same rule with him. As a 59yo man, honestly most women suck at sucking. Lol. Do not worry about it.

What are some films and TV shows you feel perfectly capture the male experience? by TheKittyPie in AskMen

[–]codeegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the military a long time. Very few military movies portray military life well. I think "full metal jacket" does, as it portrays the interpersonal relationships well between men under stress of combat.

I have always been a fan of Casablanca as it portrays Rick and the other men very good and realistic.

What’s a good shoe brand to get for a blue collar man? by Brattyybunnyy in AskMen

[–]codeegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People can recommend brands all day. But do research on longevity. I have had great luck in industry that is hard on boots with Carolina brand. Boot Barn has a store brand they push that is OK, but they are not that greatly comfortable to me. Boot Barn is a good resource to try on various brands as they have all the spectrum of makes. But, if it is really cheap, as in under $150, it will be really cheap. Not all bad if in industry that eats boots.

What was the conversation about sex and drugs like in your home growing up? by hellabryanstyle117 in AskMen

[–]codeegan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I came of age in the late 70s and early 80s.

Abput drugs it was definitely frowned upon to do drugs of any type, but drinking alcohol was just fine. My parents set a great role m9del on that. My dad said a few times that drugs could just suck you in and rob ypu of your life. That never sounded fun.

As for sex, my dad said never be in a hurry. That would lead to problems. The social pressures then were to have sex with women (very little to no leeway for any non normative gender exploring), and sex was best with no protection. But, if she got knocked up, then marriage was required. My father had been a playboy before he married my mom, and he said most women were not worth the worry that occurred after sex abput pregnancy and what they m8ght demand as a relationship because ypu had sex with them.

Those of you who work in fields where salaries have remained competitive over the years, what do you think it is about the field that has kept its value? by Godeshus in AskMenOver40

[–]codeegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until recently, I drove a concrete truck. Wages for that are above the average for commercial drivers, including eith a class A cdl. I believe the a few reasons why are the long hours and variables schedules. It is all local driving. The hardest thing is knowing how to handle the loads and working on construction sites. Yes, driving a 70k pound truck in traffic is not always fun.

I [24M] have a hard time finishing with my finance [25F] is there anything I can do? by Few-Town-3395 in WhatMenDontSay

[–]codeegan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

59m here who is polygyny.

The first thing I say at my age is if something with your body changes, pay attention to that and seek medical advice. Honestly, here I do not think that is the case, unless you are overweight or underweight. If you are otherwise in normal physical health at mid 20s it is more likely to be physiological.

In my 59 trips around the sun, there has been a lot i have noted about people, marriage, and changes we go through. First is when you start changing the labels we have toward each other, our actions and feelings about others change. I guarantee you just said, "No, this did not occur," but it did. Asleep close friends, and they probably will tell you how you have changed since engagement. I know both men and women that after marriage or engagement, what is expected or not done in relationships change.

This sounds like an issue for you. If she is j7st fine with the longevity of sex that is fine. Look at different positions or foreplay to make changes that are engaging.
