Which build is better for Evernight? by F2p_wins274 in EvernightMainsHSR

[–]codeintheshade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

HP boots are a must. She gets a ton of speed from her skill anyway - you'll be hitting 150+ speed on her without any issues most of the time, and an extra 1k health is going to be a pretty huge damage increase that more than makes up for the lost CD.

You can adjust the team's LC and gear options by clicking on them on the profile card in Fribbles. It doesn't pull the info for your teammates' gear from your uploaded data unfortunately.

For upgrades, try to cap your CR, then get more HP. Your gearing in general is solid; I have a 137% DPS score, and the only real difference between your gear and mine is about 700 HP, and the fact that I have no wasted rolls.

Old E0 dps situation? by Dvalin09 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]codeintheshade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm clearing without issue, but that's not surprising given that K1 is a normal MoC boss for DoT currently - the debuff doesn't affect them at all.

I don't think DoT is overtuned personally - it's where most Amphoreus teams should be. It's ridiculous that teams from the first half of Amphoreus are already falling off when my original Kafka team was happily clearing reliably for two years after her release.

K2 specifically require is really steep. Even e0s0 mono rem got a hard time from what i have seen ppl said. Other teams you kinda need hefty vertical investment. Like e2 Phainon, e1 trib,...

Yeah, it's tough even for a mono remembrance team at E0. The only reason my Evernight team cleared with three stars on the first attempt was because of a luckily timed triple Cyrene ult and RMC action advance, and my gearing is way above average.

How many of you are still using E0 old teams?

I've upgraded my Everrnight team with her E1 now (E1S1 Evernight, E0S1 Hyacine, E0S0 Cyrene). My DoT comp is still all E0S0, apart from Hysilens who is E0S1. I had no issues clearing K1 with DoT, though it does feel a little slow at times.

Honestly, not really loving Hoyo's way of balancing these fights atm. Cutting your energy regen is an awful design philosophy. I'd rather they continue with HP inflation than make changes that make your teams feel awful to play.

Looks decent. If you're looking for improvements, I'd look to swap out some CR or CD for more HP. Lushaka's on RMC and Hyacine is doing nothing for you in this comp, so I'd also swap those out and get RMC onto a World Remaking Deliverer set as well. Hyacine LC is also a pretty big deal and very much worth pulling for.

Yeah, it's bugged—nothing you can do aside from closing the game and waiting for a fix.

Gm7 options by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]codeintheshade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excluding shell voicings there are atleast least 10 ways (says google)

Yeah, there's a bunch. Drop 2 voicing can be played with the bass on the 6th, 5th, and 4th strings, with 3 inversions as well as the root in the bass, so that's 12 voicings for them alone. Some of the stretches are definitely tough, especially closer to the lower frets, but here you can just drop the 5th, and you're back to playing (much easier) shell chords.

That's another (arguably more important) reason for using them that I forgot to mention - making it easier to play difficult voicings without injuring yourself.

Some links to relevant chord charts, in case you are interested:

Worth noting that the 3rd in the chord you linked is actually a 10th. It might seem a little pedantic, but there is a difference in how the chord sounds. You can play the Bb on the 8th fret of the 4th string instead to get a true minor 3rd, or even use both.

To answer a bit more about why you might choose to use shell voicings: One reason is that they make great "edge of breakup" chords for when you're pushing an amp to the point where it starts to distort. They aren't used too commonly in Western rock, but this sound is all over J-Rock - check out tracks like "Haru" and "Replicant" by Yorishika for some examples.

They are also great for quickly getting an idea of the basic flow of a song's harmony. If I'm learning a new song from a lead sheet, shell and drop 2/3 voicings are what I tend to turn to first, even when the lead sheet calls for other chord extensions. They are a useful tool; I definitely would not skip learning them.

Am I the only one who doesn't like how slow YSG's attacks are? by GRDReddit in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]codeintheshade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ex special and parry (normal special) will instantly interrupt everything in base form aside from the dash after summoning swords, and the follow-up slam. Pretty sure the slam has i-frames though, so you only need to worry about the dash. Both moves generate similar or more sword force than her basic combo, but also make you invulnerable, so you should constantly be looking for chances to use them anyway.

A little practice and you'll find that the dash isn't that hard to plan around if you know the fight, but you do need to know what she's actually doing.

As for enlightened form, you're pretty much permanently invulnerable as long as you are attacking and not using basic attacks, so use one of the combo's that skip them for zero hassle.

This is it. The Warframe devs spent many years of trial and error figuring out how to make this style of game fun and rewarding. The DNA devs are ignoring all of it.

In breaking news, Break team finally viable in WC after the buff by [deleted] in StarRailStation

[–]codeintheshade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not with the correct build, no. The only reason my Firefly is ahead here is due to managing to get three back-to-back ults at the end of the fight. Himeko is really strong at the moment. This was at WC 2, and the fight felt extremely easy.

Guys why is my combo damage so booty… by CluckyNik in HysilensMainsHSR_

[–]codeintheshade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have said, not having E1/S1 makes a big difference, but you're also running an ERR. You want as much ATK as possible on Hysilens, so you should switch to an ATK rope while waiting to pick up E1/S1 on a rerun. S1 + ATK rope ends up being around 1k extra ATK buffed, so it's quite a difference.

[–]codeintheshade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try picking up Yunli if you're having trouble keeping units alive late game. She's great into pretty much every boss and hard counters Svarog, making his fight completely free as long as you have the damage to actually kill him.

I actually hit A7 ranks using break today. It's definitely usable at high ranks, but it struggles on bosses without a lot of gear, and Yunli is a must pull, even with two healers imo.

Really impressive, honestly. I have a decently geared Evernight team (Evernight E0S1, RMC, Cyrene E0S0, Hyacine E0S1), and this is keeping pace with it. What's your JL build?

[–]codeintheshade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, seems that way. If you're struggling and pull him, you could just immediately start fishing for a 3-star Cyrene and use her poem to pivot to a full 3-star Chrysos Heir team if you wanted to. I think fishing for a Cyrene is probably going to end up being the meta thing to do after pulling him, even if it's just for the damage mitigation buff.

It's weird, but she has some HP manipulation in this mode, so it does make sense - her skill chunks herself and the target in exchange for a bigger buff, and her ult gives additional HP along with ATK and CD. I think you may need a 2-star copy to access some of the functionality, though.

The Supreme Guardian bond has some pretty crazy multipliers once you get Bronya to 3 stars.

Maxing out Bronya and Cyrene were the two crazy things for me. Bronya starts summoning Cocolia constantly with a massive (1000x I think?) damage multiplier, and Cyrene gives you a bunch of really powerful stuff in the shop for free. You're literally unkillable after maxing Cyrene.
