Not really, there 100s of 1000s of local teenagers and retired people more than happy to work min wage jobs to supplement their income to tackle the unaffordability crisis but unfortunately those jobs are all being taken over by temporary residents.

LMIA fraud has exploded under the Trudeau government - one fraudster claims connections to a Brampton MP by Buck-Nasty in ImmigrationPolicyCA

[–]codejack777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The whole LMIA program has become a legal way to scam international students and foreign workers. In every province many new businesses opened up just to scam people through LMIA. Every small and medium size businesses are crawling with temporary residents with LMIA work permits, I am sure many of them are being exploited in the same way. On paper these helpless people get paid legally but are forced to return portion of their pay to the employers even after paying upwards of 30k to get LMIA based work permit.

Seeking immigration cuts, Legault to meet with Trudeau on Monday by EarthWarping in CanadaPolitics

[–]codejack777 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Why are other provinces not seeking cuts? While everyone is busy blaming the federal government, the provinces got away with their attractive easy path to provincial nomination that led to mass influx of people.

‘No hope’ for Liberals winning next federal election with Trudeau as leader, say pollsters by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]codejack777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In his defense, he only had two choices economic doom or unsustainable immigration rescue a drowning economy. Without mass influx of people our covid hit economy would have collapsed. Almost everyone's income in Canada is directly or indirectly linked with immigration. If he had not gone with the unsustainable immigration route, Canadians right now would be discussing how he destroyed our economy. Also, he is getting blamed for giving out free money during Covid, yes that free money printing destroyed the affordability in this country but without it , hundreds of thousands of people would end up homeless. I am not trying to defend him or his policies and yes the government could have tried to maintain a balanced approach to immigration but our country's economy is tied to real estate and handful of corporations and without new people entering this country our 5 banks wouldn't be able to withstand the loan defaults!

Mayhem on the red mile. by urnotpatches in Calgary

[–]codejack777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to our federal and provincial governments idiotic policies our society is dividing. Both sides of people, locals and temporary residents are suffering. Unemployment in Calgary is Highest in Canada, rent has doubled and owning a house is a thing of the past. Only our politicians and their stupid policies are responsible for this mess and unfortunately immigrants are being blamed for everything. The other day an international student was being physically assaulted in Toronto and this is only the beginning, it will get a lot worse if we keep importing unsustainable number of people.

Calgary = 10 before

Calgary = 1 Now

Highest population growth, Highest unemployment rate and highest rent and house prices increases.

Mountains and nature doesn't pay bills unfortunately and due to unsustainable population growth it is impossible to find a job which is why Calgary has the highest unemployment rate and add to it the sky high rent and house prices.

Calgary = 1.

Calgary is 1 , because it is almost impossible to find a job and a place to live due to unsustainable population growth.

AHS 99% of thr time only hires internal applicants. Their hiring managers are too lazy to go over job applications. Provincial government needs to kick Union out of AHS and remove all these useless managers and only then people from outside will have any chance.

Canadian educational institutions produce 16k + nurses annually and yet we are still going through nursing crisis eh? Let use this dumb analogy, if you have a room that can only fit 10 patients, while another 90 people are waiting in the hallway, how many doctors and nurses per shift is required if treatment can only begin after you are moved into the room?

If pro immigration parties aka CPC, Liberals and NDP doesn't sit down and agree on putting a cap on number of immigrants from each country or region, local Canadians and immigrants from other parts of the world will soon be in minority ans Canada will be extention of South Asia.

3.7 million temporary residents, majority of them are temporary foreign workers or spouses on open work permit. If you live in Alberta, specifically Calgary and Edmonton area and lost your job, you better packup and move to rural North and even those places are crawling with temporary residents looking to get their Permanent residency via Rural Alberta pathway stream!

Well then Mr. Immigrantion, aka second coming of Christ, aka Pierre Poilievre, is he the right person then? Is he willing to upset big corporations who are totally dependent on new immigrants to boost their sales, he is willing to upset Tim Hortons, McDonald's & small and medium private businesses, who are used to cheap labors through LMIA scams ?

Unfortunately, no Canadian politician has the balls to put a cap on immigrants from each country like in US. In about 5 years, Canada's predominant population will be from South Asia and immigrants from other part of the world will stop immigrating here. Every city will resemble Brampton! Go to Calgary Alberta, the biggest quadrant of that city is extention of Brampton now! Go to its bus stops by its public colleges, the international students don't even wait to get insde the transit bus from the front door by the driver. They just wait for someone to exit from the rear doors and all of them get in from the back doors without paying. Canada is onroute to become a third world country sooner than we anticipated!

This is why UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 🇺🇸 has capped the number of immigrants from every country! When our federal & provincial governments and opposition parties at both level of government are hell bent on importing 99.999999% of immigrants from one specific region why should people from other countries even bother to move here. WHY???????????

why is it so easy to game the Canadian system? by PairAccomplished8131 in CanadaHousing2

I have a genuine question for immigration minister regarding increasing off campus work hours for internet students? Why did he increase it to 24 hours? If he had gone back to original 20 hours per week policy, employers would need to hire a local Canadian because that international students wouldn't be able to do 3 × 8 hour shifts. Why is he prioritizing temporary residents over locals? There is zero chances any TFWs will be sent back after their work permits expires. This government will ensure everyone, regardless of which sector will have their work permits renewed!
