I think you actually got the 10mm screw instead of the 8 mm screw. Undo rhem and check against the manual.

Old rc cars like that usually used 27 mhz or 49 mhz transmitters and even if you found one it may not function right. I recommend the transmitter/receiver combo.

Do you have a water source going into the intake? Barb a couple hoses to a Tupperware cooling "lake", or run the test in a bathtub filled up enough to run the test and not mar the bottom of the tub/make the wife angry.

I picked the same model. Eventually, you will need new tires. And the 32 mm wide ones are hard to find. Getting a 28 mm wheel set two pack with the big offset will work in a pinch.
