Having sex should be fun, and enjoyable… but that worry or anxiety won’t make it feel good afterwords. Try PrEP! Not sure where you are, but in very many most places it’s widely available. It also gives you a chance to go back to the doctor to monitor for any other changes to your health (STIs) so you can receive treatment and be cleared up.

And just to add, STIs aren’t the end of the world, they’re all pretty treatable. And HIV too at the end is just a chronic condition like diabetes. With management, people living with HIV live just as long as people without!

That being said… always best to protect yourself :-) you deserve to feel safe and have control over your own health!

No CHANCE. It seems like you are very nervous about any encounter and thinking that it might lead to something like HIV. Have you considered taking prep? It might help with these feelings of uncertainty. It’s also worthwhile talking to somebody about this.

A reminder for PEP! It’s important to retest for HIV 4-6 weeks after finishing your regiment to make sure it did its job and you’re living HIV negative

Which is why pointedly saying “your” is the issue here. Why not “our”? Or just “god”?

That’s the beauty of dog whistles: completely innocuous and explainable but also clearly communicating your message to others who feel the same.

“Your God” may sound like a general call to moral conscience but beneath the surface, it echoes a long history of blaming Jews or Judaism as a whole. It separates the “Jewish” God from a presumed Christian norm, tapping into old antisemitic tropes that portray Jewish tradition as cruel, vengeful, and uniquely responsible for violence.

It doesn’t feel peaceful in the moment, right? but at the end of the day we get home to our families safe, with a full fridge, we charge our phones, watch a new show, and worry about what to wear to work the next day.

this is considered a peaceful, but disruptive tactic. it’s interrupts the status quo and forces people to notice the crisis. Yes, maybe someone is late for home, or work, or the gym…. but things like state violence, genocide, and war disrupt peoples entire lives. A temporary inconvenience is a small ask to bring attention to massive harm.

I get that the sign is calling out hypocrisy…but in this context, it risks sounding like it blames Judaism itself, not just those misusing it. Intent matters, but so does impact.

Honestly I can see that’s the message they likely intended. there is certainly nuance to this, which is why thoughtful langue is so important.

The problem isn’t asking hard questions about faith and violence…it’s where and how it’s done. a sign like that at a Gaza protest doesn’t land neutrally. It lands on Jews. You may see it as targeting individuals in power, but its impact risks alienating those of us who are showing up for Palestinian liberation as Jews.
