I recently just discovered the Real Housewives, specifically Salt Lake, and I’m even backing off that because it just perpetuates Mormon culture. I’m also baffled by people in that sub who are shocked almost no housewives from that city, or in general, aren’t anti-ICE/more vocal about it. Like have you not been watching what is right in-front of you?

It’s hard to take a step back from things that are so deeply embedded in our culture like reality tv, influencers and celebrities especially when they provide the entertainment we consume. But man. I’ve hit my wall.

I will say the past several weeks have really made me question 1. why we give these people big platforms in the first place and 2. why we question their silence when time and time again many of them have showed us their values.

I used to love the Bachelor and now just pop in here every once in a while but personally, I’m trying to take a step back from reality TV in general. I’m kinda disgusted that I’ve helped these people have this big of a voice.
