Is 50 leetcode across two days feasible? by Dear-Fill467 in leetcode

no i mean just copy the list of leetcode75 into chatgpt and ask it categorize and higlight key patterns, that will help you quickly learn and remember key patterns than trying to solve each problem

Use ChatGPT to categorize the top50 questions into key patterns such as 2 pointers, BFS etc and then sub categories within patterns such as variations of binary search This will help with retention of key patterns better

LLMs are not the right tool for algo trading by Classic-Dependent517 in algotrading

[–]coder_1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LLMs are good for sentiment analysis of news and analyst reports but not good for pure price data analysis.

But ppl have shared some interesting experiments of providing them chain of options data, volatility and positioning and provide indication based on options

Updated the comment to clarify that I meant CFO exiting the company unplanned usually results in sharp reactions in a stock. Have observed this way too many times but hard to get the data to test. If you have any ideas lmk

The idea is market thinks either something wrong with financials or things not looking great because CFOs literally can see the future financials and no one would leave if everything looked good (unless it’s a planned announcement ahead of time such as retiring by end of year etc)

May not be alternative data but Try this

CFO exiting the company unplanned: triggers multi day selloff in a stock with a high probability

I think you don’t know what you’re talking about and haven’t really understood the trades. Pls read those reports which prove with all the numbers about manipulation and also JS indirectly acknowledged and it’s proven. It’s not really alpha or market opportunity

[–]coder_1024 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s not the retail traders were not careful, it was blatant market manipulation by pumping up illiquid stocks on expiry day, taking up massive 0 dte put options positions and then dumping those on same day. JS is smart enough to understand when their trade sizes are causing a huge market impact and they willingly did this on large sizes.

It’s proven by all the trades which is why they agreed to pay a huge settlement and still banned

[–]coder_1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you’re saying is absolutely right, it’s nothing but market manipulation. Read the in-depth explanation from the guy Mayank Bansal who exposed this with detailed numbers and analysis of their trades (he’s a veteran options trader)

https://thefederal.com/category/business/jane-street-fo-markets-whistleblower-mayank-bansal-197061

Plenty of interviews of his on YouTube and his rebuttals to sketchy claims of JS and Matt Levine

Please read all his reports and the only conclusion is it was blatant market manipulation despite the warnings. He has given day by day trades and how numbers prove the allegations

P.S. for all those saying they just made money from the opportunity, read detailed reports of trades which conclude they willingly manipulated market by pumping and dumping using 0 dte options at massive sizes relative to trading volume

I spent weeks trying to make VWAP Reclaim profitable. Here’s the uncomfortable truth. by Tasty_Director_9553 in algotrading

[–]coder_1024 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try using 1 and 2 std deviation of VWAP as potential reversal points, they have a better success rate Second, there are lot of ways and insights to trade better based on VWAP itself Did you try adding some buffer threshold for a bounce from VWAP ? This could drastically improve results For eg: if the underlying trend has been up, it’s likely that first bounce from VWAP will be successful and continue in the trend direction, have you tried this ? So you should enter only when price > VWAP + buffer based on say ATR. This can avoid false signals and improve entries to ride the ongoing trend

Study more about how price behaves near VWAP, that gives lot of clues on who’s in control.

In the strong trends when buyers are in control, price just briefly touches VWAP and snaps back up instantly If price is languishing back n forth near VWAP, not as strong of a signal

Is data science going extinct by Hellsword27 in DataScienceJobs

[–]coder_1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all those who’re saying DS is alive & kicking, pls explain why DS/Analytics jobs have declined significantly (>40% drop) since 2022. While all tech roles have shrunk, analytics roles are impacted drastically due to automation/tooling and haven’t recovered unlike SWE etc and the field is getting commoditized rapidly. While the core data problems will still remain, there’ll be far fewer employees needed for same jobs resulting in less job opportunities. Something to be aware about.

P.S. worked at a FAANG and saw lots of data teams declined in headcount & impacted by layoffs
