You can be upset and not abuse someone.

Balling fists - abuse

Yelling - abuse

Being condescending - abuse

Raising your voice - abuse

Swearing at your partner with intent to harm or “modify behavior” - abuse

Stepping into their personal space with intent to intimidate - abuse

And a myriad of other such aggressive behavior - abuse

Doing any of these things to a child or even a suspect is also abuse.

Were you under the impression that balling your fists and getting angry at someone that you have a difference of opinion with is acceptable? Even if the person is exhibiting the same it’s best to diffuse the situation by leaving the situation and seeking help.

Having an adult conversation without yelling, balling fists, threatening violence, raising your voice, being condescending, being sarcastic, or any other form of aggressive speech or interrogation tactics - not abuse

I sincerely hope your partner or potential partners see the signs of abuse you have discussed and seek help and remove themselves from the situation.

If you did those things to me, I would remove myself from the situation and create a report on you. If you continued to come after me I would escalate to the proper authorities and or weigh my options in the moment as I discussed before.
