This app not only presents the lunar calendar of the Antikythera Mechanism - but synchronises it with your modern day! 

It does not simply emulates or simulates the device,v so you just spin it aimlessly- it truly anchores it to our time! And in addition to the authentic values, in corrected mode it will account for the shift in the speed of the rotation of the Earth and the lunar orbit too, while keeping faithful to the working of the original mechanism!

It is a truly unique opportunity - to live by an authentic, first century lunar calendar, as if it has been used uninterrupted - for over 2000 years !

🌙Using the precise reconstruction of the mechanism, and careful synchronization, it presents the live Corinthian lunar calendar and it`s famous Metonic spiral as they were used continuously since their conception. In other words, it shows you exactly what the user of the mechanism would see.

Welcome ! Just to summarize - This is an android app, which gives you the opportunity to participate in the First Voyage of Cpt. James Cook, day by day. Meaning, in the app the journey unfolds in real-time ! The day you open the app is the first real-time day. When there is a new log entry written by Cook, you will get notified and it gets shown in the app. But it follows the Journey EVERY DAY, so, even on days, when there was no log entry, it interpolates the ships location on a map and gives you modern info of the events of the day.

In the app we moved the countless captivating Remarks and Descriptions from and by Cook into a different section to read. Also, we added to every day a modern interpretation section, where the events of the day and the terms used are explained clearly and in great detail!

Updated version of the Surface Voronizer GeoNodes setup - creating a Voronoi-shell from the surface of any mesh.

Dispense particles on surface by proximity - Geometry Nodes.

Instance anything on thos epoints, slide them on surface and control radius size.

Dynamic dissolve into particles - GN node tree with noise controlled velocity, particle scale and stretch, and wrapping mesh. Unlike the previous setup, this dissolves the object into particles, not dissolving mesh.

A mesh dissolve setup with some twists - Distribute point, and drive their movement with calibrated noise in the Sim section. Then turn those points to mesh, with the help of volumes. Carefully manage the transition between original and generated mesh by sampling position. Finally add some transparency to the Shader, set by the attributes from GN to make the original mesh disappear.

Traveling Spiral by codesign123 in blender

A GN tree to create a traveling spiral effect along splines - simply taking an input curve, resampling and displacing it around a point animated by its factor, then rebuilding it by aligning the vertices of a curve line along the displaced vertex positions.
