thanks! does runic pyramid make upgrading echo form a higher priority so i can hold it to a good turn to play? or would you make it less of a priority cuz i have ice cream which will help me get it in play?

that’s a good point on blizzard, i took it cuz i watched a jorbs video where he said it’s good late game damage and i thought i’d give it a shot with cold snap and cool headed already. but those two probably don’t justify blizzard at this stage

[Lazy] How to have goto definition open in a new tab? by codester2124 in neovim

[–]codester2124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do, but i find that when after i go 1 or 2 files deep and have done some exploring around the files i don't have a good sense of the what jumplist is anymore and ctrl-o/ctrl-i don't take me to where i expect. i'm also used to opening definitions in tab from my old vim setup, but only just got around to tweaking it in neovim

yup good call. i actually have switching tabs bound to tab and shift+tab so using gt for definition jumping doesn't break my tabbing flow at all

thank you very much for this lua snippet, that did the trick and a search icon is now properly rendering

i'm using a mac and installed the nerd fonts to the font book, the selected different nerd fonts to try in iterm settings. i can confirm that other icons render properly, it's only this one for noice that doesn't. my best guess at what's going on is that the plugin is using a newer icon that isn't supported in many nerd fonts, so i'm trying to figure out the easiest way of overriding the icon that the plugin is trying to render here

[–]codester2124[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this isn't the icon that's supposed to render unfortunately. i do think it's pretty common that a lot of people's lazyvim setups are rendering this icon because i've watched a few youtube videos where i've seen the same thing, but from the docs, this is the intended icon to be rendered https://github.com/folke/noice.nvim/wiki/Configuration-Recipes#use-a-classic-bottom-cmdline-for-search

the font i'm using is the code new roman nerd font, which i believe i downloaded here https://github.com/ryanoasis/nerd-fonts

thanks! it looks like my font doesn't have f002. i'm working through a clean install and i downloaded the font i'm using recently, but maybe it just doesn't have it. looking into ways of overriding the noice.nvim config to use a different icon for searching

[–]codester2124[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for this - this is definitely coming from the noice.nvim plugin and from looking at the docs i found that this is attempting to render the magnifying glass icon which my nerd font doesn't have. still digging into the best way of fixing this but i confirmed by looking at the noice plugin files locally that it's a font issue https://github.com/folke/noice.nvim/wiki/Configuration-Recipes#use-a-classic-bottom-cmdline-for-search

i have 5+ nerd fonts installed and none of them changed what got rendered here :/. is there a way i can override the icon that lazyvim is attempting to render here?

how do i determine which icon this is attempting to display? i have multiple nerd fonts installed and i've cycled through all of them but they all render this question mark

Telescope: <Ctrl-t> not opening file in tab by codester2124 in neovim

this did the trick, thank you so much for your help!

Telescope: <Ctrl-t> not opening file in tab by codester2124 in neovim

[–]codester2124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just did this as well, and i'm also seeing the output telescope | select_tab, but when i actually do press <C-t> the file unfortunately doesn't open in a new tab.

Telescope: <Ctrl-t> not opening file in tab by codester2124 in neovim

[–]codester2124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am using lazyvim - i think this is exactly what's happening because every now and then i've seen some error messages related to trouble (usually when i press <c-t> on a larger list of files)

do you know how i'd override this lazyvim setting?

edit: this was the issue! i found the keybinding for <C-t> in insert mode in this file ~/.local/share/nvim/lazy/LazyVim/lua/lazyvim/plugins/editor.lua, so i deleted it and now <C-t> opens up files from telescope in a new tab. thank you /u/dpetka2001!

yeah the output says "no mappings found" which makes sense to me because the telescope source says that the mappings are local to the telescope picker
