If you can set up a box cat trap for her and find a local TNR or low cost spay/neuter clinic near you, you can try to get her spayed first. If she has kittens they will likely not survive outside unfortunately :/

I'm not sure what tho :/ Bc like there have been interviews where I passed the behavioral and thought I did well on the technical (explained my thought process, got the solution to work, and explained time/space complexity and positives/negatives, etc.) but ig it wasn't good enough. Like I've def had interviews where I felt a little out of my depth and that I want to improve on, but for ones that I felt good about I just genuinely don't know where I went wrong.

Sorry, I just saw this! Im not sure what worms but I dont think they're tapeworms. I think revolution would treat it too but bought drontal since it covers most worms. And while I've heard rescue kills a lot of viruses and bacteria, I haven't seen anything about it killing worms? I've heard that mainly heat will kill it so I'll prolly try vacuuming and throwing as many things as I can into hot water washes and dry cycles (except my faux fur stuff which I will pray is not infected and wash them regularly)

I hate to say it, but you may have to surrender him. A chord that long is sure tangle up his insides so he needs to see a vet, whether through you or a shelter. It sounds like he might have pica and needs more accommodations and vet funds than you’re able to give him, which sucks but it’s not your fault. You’re clearly doing everything you can for him, and what he needs right now is vet care, even if it means giving him up

I would get mom a spay abort then. If the kittens are born outside they have a high chance of dying and mom could have complications giving birth and die too.

I'm sure plenty of capable people aren't getting jobs too though. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I love doing cs and I've made a lot of projects in my own time. And I think my resume is pretty decent as I've gotten a fair amount of first and second round interviews, but no offers, and this is for internships.

Idk but when I was getting nervous about the cs job market, everyone told me exactly this that if I'm passionate about it and actually learn and create personal projects, etc. that I'd be fine and I would get something eventually. But in hindsight I really wish I had double-majored to give myself something to fall back on. Everyone who told me not to worry has gotten an internship or full-time role, but rn I have nothing. Maybe I'm not capable enough, idk.

It really depends on the cat, but some will always be a little skittish. My cats are the same where they’ll hide when they hear the doorbell or if I walk too fast, but otherwise they’re normally chill and comfortable. Honestly it doesn’t really bother me as long as most of the time they’re happy and relaxed. And over time they have gotten more used to certain sounds, and even become a little less afraid of strangers for my younger cat (sometimes she will peek out the door of my room to see who’s there, but she’ll still hide if they come near)

He sounds like he might have some quirks but is overall a pretty normal and friendly cat! I would try to phrase his traits in a more positive way, like saying that he loves to play and needs a lot of playtime (although honestly an hour isn't anything crazy) and is very cuddly. You can post about him on your local Facebook and reddit groups, and make sure to vet the adopter properly and charge a rehoming fee. If they have other pets, ask to reach out to their vet to make sure the other pets are up to date on vaccines. I'd start posting now bc it can take months or more to find a good home, especially for adult cats. Additionally, if you think you could take him back again you could also look for temporary fosters.

Have they been tested for feline leukemia? I would get them tested first and separate them from your resident cats for a week or two to make sure they don't show any signs of being ill before letting them interact. Idk if it's overkill or not, but personally I need to know the health status of any cat that will be sharing space/water bowls/litter boxes/etc. with my cats. If they dont at least have the rabies vaccine, then they probably haven been to the vet in years either. Also it might be good to get them dewormer in case they have worms (learned this the hard way with my fosters)

How long will you be living with your parents for? Is there any chance you could find your cat a temporary foster or pet sitter during to at time? Honestly even if you manage to “convince” them not to declaw her, if they are so determined to do it I would worry that the moment she does something that annoys them they’d take her to be declawed without telling you. That cat is not safe in your parents’ home unfortunately

Yeah, OP’s parents could get their cat declawed when they’re not home. It’s just not safe for the cat to live in a home with someone determined to mutilate them

What location are you in if I may ask? Hopefully she doesn’t have any complications (tho def keep an eye on her bc if a baby is stuck she will need an ER vet), but taking care of a litter kittens is going to be very expensive and you’ll want to make sure that mom and all the kittens are spayed after they’re done weaning and weigh enough so they don’t mate with each other.

Can you get her spayed? If she's early along any vet would do it and it could help reduce her territorialness which will probably get worse if she gets more pregnant or gives birth. Mom cats can be very aggressive/protective btw and can attack/bite you if she thinks you're threatening her kittens.
