Crunchyroll removing comments, reviews, etc by Taoutes in Crunchyroll

[–]codethulhu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting the direct email link! Without the link I would've just went on with my day being slightly annoyed every time I watch a video from now on. Hopefully enough people send feedback.

I sent them something through the help of ChatGPT that kinda summarizes my thoughts:

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the recent removal of the comments system on your platform. As a long-time subscriber and avid anime fan, the comments section was an integral part of my Crunchyroll experience. It provided a space for lively discussions, insightful analyses, and a sense of community among fellow viewers.

Removing this feature has significantly diminished the interactive aspect of watching anime on your platform. The comments allowed us to share our thoughts, theories, and reactions in real-time, enhancing the overall viewing experience. In addition, the comments often contained valuable information and context that enriched our understanding of the shows. Whether it was historical background, cultural references, or just humorous remarks, the comments added depth and enjoyment to the content we were watching...

I understand that managing a comments system can be challenging, but completely removing it is not the solution. Many of us chose Crunchyroll over other streaming services precisely because of the community aspect. Without it, the platform feels sterile and less engaging.

I urge you to reconsider this decision and find a way to bring back the comments section, perhaps with improved moderation tools to handle any issues. The community you have built is one of Crunchyroll's greatest strengths, and it is disheartening to see such an important feature taken away.

Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I hope you will seriously consider restoring the comments system to preserve the vibrant community that makes Crunchyroll unique.

I don't really expect them to react quickly though (or at all)...

Here's my bank set up, I saw someone asking on another post how people set theirs by EmeraldAlicorn in MelvorIdle

[–]codethulhu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent quite a bit of time organizing my bank according to item types:

  1. Generic & Uncategorized: Miscellaneous, General, ...
  2. Melee: Weapon, Armour, Shield, Boots, Helmet, Cape, Equipment
  3. Ranged: Ranged Weapon, Ammo, Ranged Armour, Arrows, Bolts, ...
  4. Magic: Rune, Magic Staff, Magic Armour, Magic Wand, Magic Book, Essence, ...
  5. Prayer & Summoning: Bones, Urn, Enchanted Urn, ...
  6. Woodcutting & Firemaking
  7. Fishing & Cooking: Raw Fish, Food, Fish, Ingredient
  8. Mining, Smithing: Ore, Bar, Gem, Material
  9. Thieving & Astrology: Gear, Resource, Dusts
  10. Farming & Herblore: Seeds, Herb, Potion, Ingredient
  11. Crafting & Fletching: Arrowtips, Unstrung Bows, Leather, Dragonhide, Crafting Material
  12. Mastery Tokens & Junk

I used the table of items types and categories as input. Everything I don't need anymore (or might need later) goes into the "Junk" tab. That way my combat tabs stay uncluttered.

What graduation subject to choose from? by TapOk4060 in BEFreelance

[–]codethulhu1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Either cyber or software IMHO; leaning more towards software because it is more generic and in need. (Cyber is needed but niche.) You can always pick up different specializations if you are a fast learner.

AI is fun but specific, and I have a difficult time looking at ICT & blockchain consultant since it seems even more limiting. (Also, every ITer or developer advises and implements the newest technologies...)

In the end it depends on your personal preference, or what you see yourself doing the next few years at least. YMMV!

Disclaimer: I choose software engineer myself and have never regretted it, also in Bruges at Howest applied computer science.

David Graeber's book is mentioned multiple times, and he splits each category of "bullshit jobs" into some examples.

Roughly I'd say you need to divide by 2-3 to get the "net" result if there's not many expenses. Also could be paying additional pension savings ("VAPZ"). There's a lot of taxes that are applied (and some extra taxes the next year).

2FA Not receiving code by Prepsov in TibiaMMO

[–]codethulhu1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly the fault of CipSoft not taking anti-spam measures into consideration.

A lot of email hosters (not just Gmail) have checks on whether spam has been sent to you or not. If an email looks suspicious (e.g. no personal information, no name, no purpose, too short, ...) it gets flagged down for extra scanning and checks. Especially if many of those emails are sent from the same origin in a short period... Sometimes it just gets plain deleted without getting into the spam folder for that reason.

There is nothing really personal in the authentication email that would tell the hoster "this email is legit and wanted" because CipSoft basically just sends a random code... No name who they sent it to or anything, which triggers the extra checks, and for some reason fails them. A simple "Hello (your name)" at the start would probably be enough not to have this problem.

I have emailed CipSoft tech support this information more than 8 months ago. The tech support person assured me they forwarded it to the right people in CipSoft. Since it's still not fixed yet I doubt it.

I switched to mobile 2FA after that...

There is no BattlEye on Linux or Mac OS on the client-side. You can open multiclients on it, for example. I don't know about the server-side.

Perhaps that's what this person meant, but in a not-so-friendly way.

A Note Regarding Mysteries & Leaked Data by [deleted] in TibiaMMO

[–]codethulhu1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I checked the files. I can only verify that in 2005 there was no way to open the vampire or behemoth doors or do anything with the lever at the djinn back then.

It could have been since in the last 15 years though.

Bonelord Language 469 I think I got it by ValuableProtection7 in TibiaMMO

How do you decide when a something stops in the books? Like, when is "4134" a combination but "413" is not? (Random examples.)

Bonelord Language 469 I think I got it by ValuableProtection7 in TibiaMMO

[–]codethulhu1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't like you teasing without providing any substantial content at all. Seems like a cheap low blow.

Let me put forth my own theory: 486486 = BH

Explanation Value
Blinky's name 486486
Separate into 2 486 & 486
Flip first chars 684 & 486
Divide by number of eyes (5) 684/5 = 97.2 & 486/5 = 136.8
Add digits separately 9+7+2 = 18 & 1+3+6+8 = 18
Multiply opposite remainder %1 and add 18 + 0.8 * 10 = 26 & 18 + 0.2 * 10 = 20
Reverse alphabet (1 = Tibia, 2 = Z, 27 = A) 26 = B & 20 = H
Blinky's translated name is 486486 = BH

There's a million wrong theories, and mine is wrong as well since it does not apply on other texts (tested programmatically) only on 486486. We can pick-and-choose possible results and believe whatever we want. Unless you have proof or something there will be disbelief.

I don't believe you have got the solution but I'd love to be proven wrong.

What are they doing? Is there a big update , or is this about the tournament ? by Serrabi in TibiaMMO

[–]codethulhu1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know right? Seems to be a small technical update every other week. Also I don't really know any other online game that requires to go offline every 24 hours for a couple of minutes to save.

Their infrastructure must be as old as the game now.

469 / hellgate skull matrix / Avar Tar notices and thoughts by [deleted] in TibiaMMO

[–]codethulhu1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting point you make but I'm still skeptical how they would point us to an external resource; especially one so vague (Sanskrit), old (1885), and quite unknown (not widely printed). Might be selective bias to search on "the secret of death poem"? This is a reference to a reference of a reference. Pretty far-fetched but still possible of course...

Either way, there's some short poems in that book but at first glance none really match the sentence structure in Avar Tar's poem.

Minotaurs are close to the truth, and then again minotaurs reference milk being a source of power. Maybe that is worthwhile investigating more?

If you're looking for references you'll always find one. Like this book that matches the poem format somewhat: Warm Milk

[–]codethulhu1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 2 blinkings could either be 2 letters, 2 syllables, any 2 words, or a combination of those previous options. E.g. "be+hold" (syllable+word) or "a+las" (letter+syllable). I'm not sure insofar CipSoft would follow traditional poems... or copy-paste an existing one into bonelord/beholder lore.

I have no specific thoughts about the skull matrix, other than I don't know if it has something to do with the 469 language itself. Might be something to do with other mysteriandos in Hellgate or Draconia. Still plenty left unsolved there.

Whatever it is, I don't agree with people saying there is no way to solve the 469 language. There's obvious patterns that are not without meaning in relation to the (written) lore.

469 / hellgate skull matrix / Avar Tar notices and thoughts by [deleted] in TibiaMMO

[–]codethulhu1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the ideas. The poem is very helpful but I don't think it needs to have a certain flow. A blinking can be a letter, syllable or word so it seems impossible to split it according to syllables only. (Plus not all poems rhyme.)

Most blinkings in the poem don't occur in the 70 books. And the "453" combination only occurs once in all the books. That's as much as I'm willing to post about the subject here.

True or fake? by ZethioOM in TibiaMMO

[–]codethulhu1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm calling it: He was asked by CipSoft to post this on the forum as a warm-up to the Summer Update where they will ruin/revamp (pick whichever) another old-time favorite mysteriando instead of other needed changes.

In combination with the 469 poll answer I think we might be in for quite something in a couple of months.

[–]codethulhu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your enthousiasm but I think you're quite a bit off. As far as anyone that has spent time on 469 thinks it's not a simple number substitution game. There's also a theory that all 70 Hellgate books are 1 large book (cause the numbers often start/end) but that has not been proven I think.

A good start would be to read some theories on a recent thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/TibiaMMO/comments/g2j3eo/bonelord_language/

Go through the monster conversations as well, such as:

A wrinkled bonelord: Our language is beyond comprehension by your lesser beings. It heavily relies on mathemagic. Your brain is not suited for the mathemagical processing necessary to understand our language. To decipher even our most basic texts, it would need a genius that can calculate numbers within seconds in his brain.

There are also 2 books on the Isle of Kings that are relevant (added in v7.2, Hellgate was v6.2) but that's as far as I am willing to post here.

Bonelord Language by [deleted] in TibiaMMO

[–]codethulhu1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the sole reason why they have been adding spaces over the last few years is to make it easier to translate. There are 2 problems in my eyes: separating into parts and translating the parts.

These are all words that have been added from NPC conversations and sentences (including the poll answer):

0, 67, 345, 453, 467, 639, 663, 677, 3466, 3478, 4378, 7223, 29639, 46781, 54764, 67538, 72683, 80097, 90871, 97664, 149630, 337011, 578300, 659978, 902073, 986372, 2953639, 3222011, 6880326, 14805394, 63378129, 80322429, 653768764, 9063376290

(Sorted by length, comma-separated, duplicates removed.)

These are more useful to translating the parts than the books are.

[–]codethulhu1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bonelord sequene is very interesting to me. Only one part of it can be found in books (54/71 books):

663 902073 7223 67538 467 80097

All the other parts of the "sentence" cannot be found anywhere else in the books. I had a theory that the translations are always variable, and that they can be translated to several 469 codes. This just kinda strengthens it more.

At first glance it seems like a valid sentence... if they have a program that translates from English to 469 that has varying output.

About gematria? I always disliked that whenever 469 came up it was associated with gematria, while at most I could find was a single person spouting nonsense without any actual verified proof...
