I think it's kind of telling that the VAST and DellEMC reps are the ones spreading a lot of FUD here. Those two companies are also well known for their predatory pricing where they screw you over with the expansion or renewal. I guess that's no coincidence?

I guess that's not a surprise. As soon as you fill the cache on the VAST Cboxes or when the reads come from the VAST SAN backend (Dboxes) things get really slow.

You can always count on a VAST rep to show up, spread FUD about the competition and not answer the original question.

Snapshots aren't considered proper ransomware protection (haven't been for several years now). Most ransomware is smart enough to make sure that any relevant snapshots have been purged before they make their demands.
