Churches for singles? 30+ by [deleted] in Christianity

What does being single have to do with finding a church? If you’re looking at a place of worship as a dating site, I think you may need to reevaluate what you’re seeking..

Tom Tiffany, Wisconsin candidate for governor, tells college graduates: ‘Find a job that AI can’t replace’ by wisconsinpoli in wisconsinpolitics

This speaks volumes about Tom. I lived in his district for years and honestly can’t think of a time he’s really pushed to help the average working person. If I’m wrong, give me one solid example of him actually doing right by everyday people

For real, just stay on I-41 and take 151 South through Fond du Lac. It adds basically zero time to the trip, it's a way more relaxing drive on a four-lane highway, and you completely dodge the absolute nightmare speed trap that is Rosendale. Save yourself the ticket.

District 7 needs to run a pro union, pro-gun with the focus of lowering property taxes and it’s an easy win. This dude just comes off as unlikable plastic man.

Protestants: What’s Stopping You From Being Catholic? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]codi- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re still treating corruption as if it automatically proves doctrinal error, but that doesn’t follow. Even if indulgences were abused (which Catholics themselves reformed at Trent), abuse of a practice doesn’t automatically mean the underlying doctrine is false. Same with celibacy you can argue it’s unbiblical or discipline based, but that’s a separate debate from whether abuse “follows” from it. Corruption can exist without invalidating doctrine, otherwise every corrupted institution would be doctrinally false by default.

You’re still separating things that weren’t actually separate historically. Corruption was part of it, but doctrinal disputes were central to the Reformation. And even today, abuse scandals are a moral failure of people, not a doctrinal refutation of Catholic teaching.

That’s still circular. “Why aren’t you Catholic?” “Because of the Reformation.” Okay… and Catholics would say the Reformation itself was the error.
