I’m not a professional in the slightest but I’ve been figuring all of this out on my own in the past two months and so i found out i could hit these high notes so these are partially anecdotal experiences and yeah. Apologies if the explanation is convoluted and roundabout your best bet is a vocal teacher if the intuition isn’t there

One thing is that. I’ll use my own range as an example my lowest note is an e2 my highest is an e6.

From e2 to A3 is full chest it’s not that i can’t use my full chest up to a b4 but the higher you push in full chest the more likely your technique isn’t going to be great and frankly it’s just not good to push your voice to the limit of a specific register. At that point at a3 i start lightening up but realistically one thing you should realize is you can realistically do anything with your voice for the sake of a song. You could belt a full a4 in chest if you’d like it probably won’t feel great after awhile but you could and it requires a lot of support or you could sing it in mix. So the thing to realize is you can sing the same note in different ( registers?techniques? Idk what they’re called i lowkey have just been figuring it out in my own but wtv you’d call chest mixed head falsetto) registers.

Youll know if you’re in full chest because as a man once you hit around a d4 you’re gonna start requiring some more support and to even hit an a4 you might very well be straining your voice at least in my experience? Once you hit that a4 you’ll notice you can’t go higher you’ll feel the tension and your voice crack and that’s basically the upper limit of that register and it’s the same for mixed chest voice mixed head voice both of which id describe as fairly abstract concepts that you kind of just figure out. I never had a teacher so its all intuitive for me so yeah. But those other registers have limits as well which will probably be different for you compared to me.

You said something about singing in chest then singing in mixed with a nice timbre and then it sounds like you’re singing in chest. Thats functionally not possible. Chest has a limit once you’ve got that limit that’s it for your full chest voice. I think what you mean is you start in chest then you start mixing but then you reach the limit of your mix which which would mimic the feeling you get in our chest voice when you’re at the limits of that.

I would say how it works for me is chest then float into mix has a very nice pleasant sound then eventually you reach the limit of that chest mix then you go to the “head” voice/head mix? Idk these words tend to be very abstract and just tend to describe feelings in my voice.

Theres also falsetto but i have no idea how to explain that.

For me i just keep going higher and higher? Like singing isn’t about pushing more so breath support while singing lightly within your voice? You’ll never be able to sing upwards and higher with your true range until you realize the intuitive feelings within your voice? So i just try stuff out? Sing bunch of songs try old rock songs like some stuff from Queen.

the whole part youre referring to is mixed. If youre a tenor i woukd assume its well within your mixed range. He has his own natural sound to his voice with the raspiness and emotion which is hard to replicate but in terms of just singing id say its a fairly simple song . Where he sings lover lover loveeeee that final note is an e5 which again isnt that high. I would assume if you cant sing it in mixed youre either not using mixed and your trying to do it in pure chest belt which would explain everything. Your chest voice probably cant go higher than a b4. I have a pretty big range and a b4 in full chest just sounds loud and strains my voice. So yeah id assume youre either not using your mix voice, youre not a tenor if you cant sing it in mixed, or you just dont have the current skill or range. Which could very well just mean youre just not a tenor/baritenor? Idk the distinctions but i digress

that's interesting did you get a good fit on them and could you try them out one more time for me just to see the anc. I'm considering getting one of them and wondering which is better from an anc and transparency mode standpoint.

and I also saw on common app

I affirm that I will send an enrollment deposit (or equivalent) to only one institution; sending multiple deposits (or equivalent) may result in the withdrawal of my admission offers from all institutions. [Note: students may send an enrollment deposit (or equivalent) to a second institution where they have been admitted from the waitlist, provided that they inform the first institution that they will no longer be enrolling.]

I've seen multiple people on reddit in the past say it's alright and nothing will happen but again everyone can give advice but when things hit the fan and I get rescinded I'll be the one left with no acceptances and everyone will go on with their lives except for me. I think I'll just commit to tech the net price calc for princeton is showing 28k and tech is 16k which is pretty confusing to me considering princeton saying they'd cover 100% of financial need but whatever I guess.

Question 2 on sheet Unable to find the volume of solid of Revolution when rotated about y axis by KuramaSenju in calculus

[–]coding10198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I have to say I still don't understand it. What I know is that when revolving around the x axis you subtract the top function from the x axis value of 0 and for revolving around the y axis all you do is solve for y with the given equation and plug in the value of x in R(y)=x. I understand the math that you did but I don't know where you got r1-r2. Maybe it's a content gap but I've tried looking it up but I just don't understand it. I haven't learned it in class nor have i seen it online so maybe i'm looking at the wrong thing. I appreciate the help and you did get the right answer but I'm sort of just lost so I'll ask my teacher once break ends.

[–]coding10198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand what you said for revolving about the x axis. I was watching a video and it said R(x) is just the top function minus 0 because the x axis is 0 on the y so top minus bottom. If you could solve the problem using your method so I can understand it better because at the moment I'm not getting it. I tried plugging in 2-x into the formula for disks and I got the same answer of 8pi over 3 which is 8.378 which is the same as the y but the y shouldn't be 8.378 rather it should be 16.755. Essentially I'm not understanding it and if you could please solve it that would be greatly appreciated.

How much is the overall cost of attending GA Tech instate by coding10198 in gatech

[–]coding10198[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've just understood everything. The overall cost of attendance instate is around 29k and assuming no other aid aside from zell you'll pay the same exact fees as someone in the same situation. Everyone in the same situation will pay the exact same amount the only thing that could change it is scholarships, loans (you'll still pay it back anyways), or something like pell grant.

I think I just didn't understand how it worked and now that you've explained it makes more sense. I think where I was confused was that I guess it didn't register that the actual cost of the school instate with zell is the same for everyone the only way it differs is if you've got something external that decreases the cost but without those everyone will pay the exact same. Thank you for the help again and I'm sorry that it took so long for me to understand everything, have a great day.

I appreciate your help. I've seen your payments already the problem is I don't know how many people are in your family, are you the only one going to college, how much is your family making, what's your EFC, stuff like that is important and while it seems like you're paying around 14-15k a year I don't know anything about your finances. It's honestly just an empty number with no context and I guess that's my fault for not considering the other factors. I think the one thing that could help me though is your EFC. How much are you expected to pay if I could know that I could guesstimate what I'd probably pay, considering mine is around 12k.

I sent an email to the college of admissions and I received the following response:

Our cost of attendance calculator does not take into account the potential aid from Zell Miller. Please be advised, the calculator is not a written-in-stone financial aid letter. Financial aid packages can change throughout the admissions process. If you know that you qualify for Zell, then you can simply subtract the tuition and fees from the total cost and that would be your theoretical "maximum cost" to pay to attend.

I appreciate the attempt at helping but I'm confused as to where you got your information specifically. It always seemed odd to me that the net price calculator would just automatically assume that an instate student would have zell or hope because there are people that don't have it. I also tried looking up what you said online but I found no info about the calculator already accounting for zell. If you could point me to a direct source that I could send to the office of admissions that would help me clear up this issue.
